71 chapters total...14 a day would take us through Friday. That sounds like a lot but they must be short chapters because it's less than 80 pages...is that okay or do you ladies want to stretch it out an extra day?

That works for me.
That works for me.
This sounds like the situation is going to be similar to Hawke's but I'm assuming the author will through in some different sort of twists for Riaz. It took me a few chapters to figure out who Adria was. I knew we had heard the name but it had been a couple of books back so I didn't get the connection right away...maybe I'm just slow :)
I think Alice is going to continue to be part of the future stories.
Watch out for Ming! He is on the hunt.
I am confused. How can Riaz be "mated" to someone who is mated to someone else?

I think it's just like Hawke...he saw her and his wolf recognized her as its mate, but since she was already with someone they never actually mated. That's my guess anyway.

I haven't started today's book yet, but I will.
How are you ladies doing?

That's the point I was confused about. Why would she be married and not mated? Why two men were hung up on something that really didn't happen. I mean Hawke really didn't mate with the girl who died. He just felt like he did. Riaz "mated" in his mind and heart with someone who was already committed to someone else. Does anyone else see a problem there?
I'm doing good. My reading has slowed down to just a trickle instead of the flood I was reading at. I hope it picks back up. How are you?

I can't really say for Riaz because I don't know his whole story yet...does anyone remember if the female in question was human? That might make a difference as to why she was married to someone else instead of waiting for her mate...
As for Hawke, he was just using the death of his "mate" as an excuse to not have to get close to anyone. He was afraid of letting someone in just to get hurt. Sienna called him on it.

Good to know. I wonder how that will make a difference in the mating "call" or whatever it is he feels. Obviously she wouldn't feel as if he were her mate.
I like your picture :)

Evidently she didn't/ couldn't feel the mating call since she married Emil.
Thank you. In another group we are reading books about dragons this month so this picture caught my eye.

As for the mating bond, you don't choose your mate. You don't necessarily mate with the person you love. It's a lot more primal. From what I understand it is the wolf/cat in you who recognizes your mate.
If leaves Adria and pursues a relationship with Lissette and she accepts it fully too, then Riaz and Lissette will be mated. The mating bond is not really a choice. You can't pick and choose your mate. They are chosen for you. Same is the case with Hawke. His mate(I forgot her name) had she been alive and had they had a relationship they would have been mated.
This is my understanding of the books.
Thank you, Aarati. Great explanation. I guess I was just ranting about Hawke not wanting to commit and now we have Riaz with a similar situation. Yes, the mating call is an involuntary reaction their wolf/cat has toward their potential mate.

This couple means more to me than the rest of them. Because I personally think it takes a lot to walk away from your destined mate. The rest of the couples in this series are mated, except for Riaz and Adria. imagine how much it means when your partner is willing to forgo his mate to be with you. I guess I'm caught up in the romance of it all! :D

Did you get to part about their discussion with Faith. That was a good one. :D
I wish the book would just stay on the couple. I like Hawke and Sienna, but they already had their book. So far this story has been more about them than anyone else.
I have noticed that the pass few books have incorporated everyone, not just the main couple. Even though I loved the last two books, I found that a little distracting.
I am enjoying this series more than I did at the beginning. Is it just me or is the series just getting better?

I think she is trying to show how the pack is recovering from the attack and the mating of Hawke and Sienna.

I'm not reading your spoilers yet. I'm on 22.
I do think that with so many people involved and so much going on it's necessary to jump around to keep the reader (aka us) up to date, I just don't like how this one so far has been more about everyone else than it has been about the Riaz and Adria. Just my opinion ;) And I do love how the pack shows their love for Sienna!
So far I like their story. Who doesn't love a story that goes from hate to love? There's a lot of aggression between them.

I also think I like the wolves better than the cats now that we've gotten to know them better. They seem more fun.
Yes, I got a little carried away. The last two weeks have been very slow reading weeks for me. I am happy to get back in the groove.
I am enjoying the wolves more. I like seeing the how the pack works as a whole.
The story gets better. I like seeing the progression of Riaz and Aria's relationship.

Got to love Kaleb! I can't wait to read his book! I want to know more about him.
Changelings packs have to have shares in a clothing line or factory because they go through a lot of clothes.

Lol, I've thought that about their clothing, too. I can't imagine how much they spend on clothes!
I'm looking forward to more of Kaleb, too. He is an interesting character. I think Alyssa has read through this whole series just for that book :)

I think so too. Singh has some interesting characters but I agree Kaleb is the most diverse character.

I like that Singh is introducing new types of changelings. Blacksea is cool. I want to see a dolphin changeling or shark changeling.

Here are some quotes I liked.
“I hear women are posting their phone numbers on the site for you.” Accompanied by sexy videos and photos.
Judd’s eyes gleamed. “Not after Brenna hacked the site and plastered a message on their homepage pointing out that I’m very happily mated to a wolf with sharp teeth, razored claws, and a wild case of insane jealousy.” A small smile that was nonetheless, quietly satisfied. “She also uploaded several gruesome photos of feral wolf kills.”
― Nalini Singh, Tangle of Need
“Excuse me. I think you must’ve accidentally used the wrong pronoun.”
The growl that rumbled up out of his chest was loud enough to rattle the water glass on the bedside table.
“Fine, you can stand in the corner and cheer while I kill him.”
― Nalini Singh, Tangle of Need
“Maybe, just maybe, two broken people could manage to create something whole.”

FYI: Book 3 of Vlad has a title - but obviously no cover yet.

I would love a book about the Blacksea changelings!!
Baby wolves and leopards playing together...does it get any cuter?
I'm so far behind, but I'm hoping to catch up tonight and tomorrow. This has been a crazy week!

I love the babies! I hope she does write a book about them. The closest I have come to reading a book about water changelings is
. I enjoyed that book.

That how my week was last week.

I read a book about Selkies a while back. I can't remember the name of it at the moment, but it was good.
Happy Easter :)
Happy Easter :)
I forgot about Selkies. I have read a couple of those. I have also read a bunch of mermaid books. They could be considered as shifters/changelings.

You are missing out. Mermaids have fascinated me since I was a little girl. here are a few I have read that were good.

Then we'll have to find a new series since the next one doesn't come out until June. I would suggest Moon Called, but Vaughn wants to read that too and I don't think she would be able to keep up with a book a week. Any suggestions?
