Thanks, I think looking at the actual book the cat is sitting on a desk - so I see where it doesn't fit.

Yes, that is a gargoyle.

Ms.soule (mrssoule) Will you accept Major Pettigrew's Last Stand for Option 4? The MC struggles with his family and village community to pursue a relationship with a woman of a different racial background.

Kim (goodreadscomkimber) | 708 comments I read The Restorer for option 1 which is on your ok list on the first page. I liked it so much I'd like to read book 2 for the same option. The cover pic is supposed to be a cemetery statue of course but it looks a little realistic so I wanted to get your ok before using it for this option. Link to the cover...The KingdomMight as well have you check on book 3 too in case others are interested or book 2 doesn't work...The Prophet

Thanks~!

The colour shading doesn't make it easy to see, but looking at other covers it's much more obvious that it is meant to be a statue so it's approved.

The other one as well in case you want to use it :-)

Thank you! I already started reading it. Great task! I've been wanting to read this series and the task gave me just the right excuse!

LouLouReads | 221 comments Can I make the case that Hark! A Vagrant by Kate Beaton celebrates the creative act of writing? A lot of her comics are about writers and authors, though she doesn't directly discuss the act of writing.

That doesn't really seem to be enough, there's too many other things being focused on. According to the book blurb anyway.

Nicola | 1360 comments Sam F wrote: "I'm wondering if Somewhere Inside: One Sister's Captivity in North Korea and the Other's Fight to Bring Her Home would work for Option 4."

Yes I think it does. If nothing else the book itself is an act of defiance against the North Korean regime.

Not for Option 1 but it would work for option 4.

I haven't read it but looking at the blurb I think it looks like art in this novel would come under the heading 'background colour' rather than really being focused on art. However, if you read it and think that art is actually a very major part of the story then feel free to state that.
