I read The Restorer for option 1 which is on your ok list on the first page. I liked it so much I'd like to read book 2 for the same option. The cover pic is supposed to be a cemetery statue of course but it looks a little realistic so I wanted to get your ok before using it for this option. Link to the cover...The KingdomMight as well have you check on book 3 too in case others are interested or book 2 doesn't work...The ProphetThanks~!

The other one as well in case you want to use it :-)

Can I make the case that Hark! A Vagrant by Kate Beaton celebrates the creative act of writing? A lot of her comics are about writers and authors, though she doesn't directly discuss the act of writing.
I'm wondering if Somewhere Inside: One Sister's Captivity in North Korea and the Other's Fight to Bring Her Home would work for Option 4.
LouLouReads wrote: "Can I make the case that Hark! A Vagrant by Kate Beaton celebrates the creative act of writing? According to the book blurb anyway.
Sam F wrote: "I'm wondering if Somewhere Inside: One Sister's Captivity in North Korea and the Other's Fight to Bring Her Home would work for Option 4."Yes I think it does. If nothing else the book itself is an act of defiance against the North Korean regime.
I also want to know if this book fits option 3: The Goldfinch? From the description I understand that it celebrates the world of painted art...
Teodora wrote: "I also want to know if this book fits option 3: The Goldfinch? From the description I understand that it celebrates the world of painted art..."I haven't read it but looking at the blurb I think it looks like art in this novel would come under the heading 'background colour' rather than really being focused on art. However, if you read it and think that art is actually a very major part of the story then feel free to state that.
Nicola-Are the statues on pedestals in lower right-hand corner large enough to qualify for option 1? Thanks.

This was a tough one... I thought about it a lot and decided to allow it :-)

Yes definitely :-)
Sorry about the delay.
How about Boys in the Trees: A Memoir for option 3? Her artistry, in this case her singing career, is not alternative but it is artistry...
Cindie wrote: "How about Boys in the Trees: A Memoir for option 3? Her artistry, in this case her singing career, is not alternative but it is artistry..."Yes, that would be fine.

Thanks, I think looking at the actual book the cat is sitting on a desk - so I see where it doesn't fit.
