All books are suitable CFDeeDee if they are over 150 pages. No theme this toppler. Just choose 5 books you might like to read, generate a random number and await further instructions.
Sandra wrote: "THREE MEN IN A BOAT is perfect for a toppler, Kimey. It's short, quick and funny."I've been meaning to read it for years and have never gotten around to it because I worry I won't really like it because it is a "classic" and I really struggle with classics.
I figured it would make a good toppler read since it is short. And maybe if it is chosen for me, I'll finally make myself read it! LOL.
CFDeeDee wrote: "Do I have to list 5 books?!I only could find 2 on my list which are suitable !"
Sarah's right. These aren't necessarily books you need to read for challenge, they're ones you want to read for whatever reason. Maybe a holiday story, or a good mystery, or whatever sounds good to you.
My dad has been in the hospital most of the month of November and is still there. I hope to be able to participate in the toppler (at least sneak in one book) but will not know until closer to the 12th. I have been missing book club threads. : )
Connie (Ava Catherine) wrote: "My dad has been in the hospital most of the month of November and is still there. I hope to be able to participate in the toppler (at least sneak in one book) but will not know until closer to the ..."Sorry to hear about your father Connie. Sending restful thoughts.

Sarah wrote: "Wow Janice. I plan to participate but I'm not sure whether I'll actually finish a book or not."Okay... I'll list 5 books and roll a number. I don't know if the book will get started or finished, but at least I'll give it a go.

I arrive at my dad's on Thursday afternoon, so my time on the road won't coincide with the toppler. We might all be bored with each other by Saturday and nobody will mind if I bury my face in a book. I'll just play it by ear.
Sorry to hear about your Dad, Connie. I hope he gets better soon. Sending hugs and good wishes your way.

I've put 5 really short books on hold at the library that are all available. I don't know if I'll be able to finish one since I'll be at my dad's. I have to teach him how to test his blood sugar (he really doesn't want to stick himself) and we're going on a tour of the grocery store (he thought maybe they had a section for diabetics and he could just go there). At 85 he's stubborn and doesn't always listen the first few times you tell him something. We've already been laughing while planning our chores. ☺ Will also be visiting my brother and his family, and the kids love to play.Random numbers: 4 and 3 (as a lark)

Then you will use www.random.org to pick a number. On the right side of the screen you'll see a box saying True Random Number Generator. Minimum will be 1, and maximum will be the number of books on your list. You will then generate as many numbers as books you think you might read. There's no penalty for generating too many numbers. So if you think you'll read two books but only read one, you'll be fine.
The Toppler will be noon Saturday, December 12th, to noon Sunday, December 13th, EST. I'm sure someone can help with time conversion, I'd just confuse you.
A few rules:
1. Books must be started and finished in this time period to qualify.
2. You may read any format - paperback, hardcover, ebook, or audiobook. For the last two use the page numbers on the first edition that comes up on the GR page.
3. Each book must be at least 150 pages.
4. Toppler books can count toward the monthly challenge, the group theme read, and the yearly challenge if they qualify.
