Sandysbookaday (taking a step back for a while) (sandyj21) | 5101 comments Happy Birthday Kerry and Happy Anniversary Sean!
Sharon, I like mudding too - but in a 4WD!
10.37 am - time for a cup of green tea before I tackle polishing the mountain of cutlery from last night....but all went well and we just managed to squeak through with our steak supply (but believe me, the chefs got a real earbashing!) and we have had supplies delivered this morning.
Finished The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins yesterday - I am going to read it again. Compulsive reading. If you haven't read it yet, please do. 8:D

Kerry Hunter (kerryelizabeth) I was definitely very touched and very grateful. My little brother who has never lifted a finger in his life mopped my entire flat and I do admit I shed a tear or two. Very proud of him.

It's been a good day, even though an odd one :) Thank you all ^_^

Thanks Chris. A long time ago. My brother was a marine - enlisted not the draft. He came home but suffered so badly with PTSD. Just died too young.

I'm liking it and laughing for the right reasons. There's some terrific humour in it with Marvel. I was crying I was laughing so hard.

You're obviously an early riser Christine. I overlooked the fact that it's much earlier in other parts of the world than it is in the UK. I see you're on Kirsten's list today - Happy National Doctor's Day. :)

Hey,

I think we as moderators are mostly nice to you, although we send you to jail sometimes.

How about this group, this moderator deletes members, see message below.

"These members will be executed (deleted) on March, 30th 2015 at sunrise. Remember, you can be pardoned if you make a comment or post by the execution date.

Name and date joined:

Yes it you do not post he delets you from the group !!!

He makes a note when members join, and gives them a month. (He had a jury folder)

Are they THAT DESPERATE for attention? They could receive weekly feedback through therapy. Just sayin'. Some people join groups only to catch up on other readers' opinions, they may not be comfortable to express their points of views and shouldn't be punished for it.

That is weird Sean.

message 4690: by [deleted user] (new)

I think that is putting pressure on people who are perhaps shy and want to talk in their own time?

message 4691: by [deleted user] (new)

'Control freak' springs to mind !

message 4692: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Some people may just join to get ideas and may not say anything unless they have something to say. I think it's just a little anti-social to make rules like that.

message 4693: by Sean, Moderator (new)

Sean Peters | 10541 comments Mod
The thread is rather nasty, he names and shames members, goes through the lists, and checks to see if they have posted if not he names them, a month later deletes them.

I am sure some do not even know they are no longer a member of his group !

Suprised I have not been deleted !, although have made one post.....LOL

Down right mean, I think. In fact I might leave, but do like to see what other groups do.

SUSAN *Nevertheless, she persisted* (susan-workstosupportbookhabit) | 271 comments Kimberley wrote: "I think that is putting pressure on people who are perhaps shy and want to talk in their own time?"

I am shy and when I join a group,I like to learn how the group interacts. Its like jump rope, your timing has to be right or you will get caught in the rope.
My friend Christine invited me to join this group and spoke highly of everyone. So,I have found it easier to interact. :)

message 4695: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) This group has rapidly become one of my favorite groups. I'm glad I took the advice of whoever suggested I try this group! (I'm sorry, I can't remember who did.)

message 4696: by Jean (new)

Jean | 2387 comments Wow, Sean! I belong to three other groups, and I hardly ever post on them. At least I think I still belong. If I don't, I guess I won't worry about it. People join for different reasons, and I don't think anyone should be expected to actively participate if they don't want to. People have busy lives, and as we've seen with this group, an individual's postings can really ebb and flow depending upon what is going on in "real life." I don't think anyone should be penalized for that, and I'm glad this group isn't like that.

message 4697: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mccall I only belong to one other group and I didn't post on there much before this but I would hate to feel pressured into having to post - that isn't what these groups are about

on another note Monday officially was too long and too wet today

message 4698: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Believe it or not, I belong to 13 groups!

Here are my Top 5

1. J. D. Robb
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

2. A Good Thriller
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

3. Goodreads Choice Awards Book Club
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

4. Cozy Mysteries
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

5. Mysteries & Crime Thrillers
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

I listed these in terms of which ones I enjoy the most, not in the order of my personal activity.

I was invited to join then left THAT group because there wasn't much going on. And there's no way in hell I'll be dictated to!! Life's too short for nonsense like that. This group will never be like that!

*You got 10 minutes to post or I'm taking down names!! *
