I have always wondered why Jay Leno never produced such a show. He is a keen car enthusiast and has quite a collection himself.

Sharon Mccall things I couldn't care less about - Jeremy Clarkson - well really what else would you expect the guy just cant go about punching folk! and one D however I am aware that people are upset by both these things

me I am upset cos I really should have had more weight on my bar tonight than 40kg for deadlifts can do so much more however I guess when you are doing 60 of them in intervals of 15 mixed in with burpees then I suppose its not too bad :)

I have one small tattoo on my foot, a little butterfly.
I wouldn't get anything else, I'm too scared that I'd change my mind and wouldn't like it later in life.

I also do not like "men" who where earings !!

Maybe I am a little old fashioned.

Do not like tattoos on men and especially ladies.

Do not like studs through the noses.

I feel I am getting old !!!

I'd go nuts if my kids got them. I can admire them, tasteful ones but I skin doesn't remain the same and on wrinkly skin it ain't a good look!! Sorry, no offence intended. Each to their own!

message 4525: by [deleted user] (new)

LOL Janet!!
Well when I got mine done, my 18 year old brain reasoned that when I'm on old and wrinkly, I can hide mine under socks..LOL

Maybe my grandkids will think I'm cool?

Ding-Ding-Ding....Brenda you are right. Speedy Gonazales is located on my right shoulder. I got him in 1995 when I moved in with the twin's dad. His nick name is 'Speedy' and he is from Mexican descent.

Jean | 2387 comments Good point, Brenda! The folks (like me) who do NOT have tatoos seem to be in the minority these days. I have seen some vey beautiful, artistically done tatoos, as well as some that made me wonder, "why did he/she bother?" I've never seen or thought of a design that I would want on my body forever, plus I'm not into pain. But if that's something a person chooses, that's his/her choice, and I can admire the pretty ones! It's much more acceptable these days- except that some medical facilities where I've worked require people to keep them covered. In some types of work it's not considered "professional," I guess...

On the point of piercings, tattoos, green coloured hair - I am all for individuality. What I would hate to see is sameness everywhere, god that would bore me stupid. Nose piercings are massive in India and has been for centuries, nothing new there, body paintings can probably go back centuries too; brides having henna in their hands looks great but it isn't permanent. Whenever there was a school fair we uses to do washable non permanent tattoos and henna, used to go down a storm with the kids. My brother has a tasteful tattoo and they are works of art when done well. Saw a stunning shot of a woman all curled up in the bath yesterday on Facebook, it was to showcase her tattoos. Did look good. Just isn't my thing personally - but I'm all for differences, it's what makes us individuals.

I've said approximately the same about my German Shepherd Dog. He could be looking for a place to pee, a butterfly flies past his nose and he has forgotten what he was doing.

I have always wanted a tattoo but just never got around to out. The major problem is I would be very picky about the artist chose, you aren't going to just wash it off so I want it done right. The other is money. As I've aged, my choice of tattoos gets bigger (in size) lol.

One of my problems about getting a tattoo that I would like. As I age, things just aren't in their original places anymore. Being overweight has not helped either.

lol It is actually a miracle that I've never had a tattoo done (yet). I'll be 56 in a few weeks, always been the black sheep. Being the oldest, I broke my parents in for my siblings. I've always been game for almost anything. (actually traveled with a carnival for a summer) Wish now that I had followed through with some of my dreams of younger years. I always wanted to go to Alaska and homestead.

I once went into a Subway to get a sandwich, and the kid making my order had several piercings on his face. Didn't strike me as being hygienic.

Sadly, correct Brenda.

Not encouraging for the customers.

It does not give a good first impression, although the chap could be very nice.

Janet made a good point, of how they look when you are older.

Kimberley rightly placed her tattoo where it can be hidden.

How different we all are..LOL

Yes some can be a work of art, but do not like bright green hair either!!

LOL

DianeAlice | 142 comments One of my daughters has a tiny nose stud and she has such a pretty little nose it looks lovely. My other daughter has a tattoo on her back, eyebrow piercings and I haven't seen her natural hair colour in years! At present it's pink and purple haha. My son has neither piercings or tattoos so they're all different which I like.
I could do with some decorating done here if you're wielding a paint brush David!
The app isn't working on my phone today, anyone else got any problems?

message 4547: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mccall I am not going to apologise for having tattooes I have four and they all have a common theme and personal sentiment. in fact the one on my leg I designed
myself.

for work they are covered not because they have to be but because I choose to.

I am not a fan of piercings especially in an environment where they are unhygienic.

however each to their own individual tastes.

message 4548: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) I agree, Sharon! You should not apologize for the clothes you wear, the piercings/tattoos you have, or the hair style you sport. (Of course, many of us will critique your choices. But, hopefully privately.)

Personally, I don't want tattoos or piercings. Some look insane. (Like large swastikas on your neck.)

But we have something called freedom of expression.

Renovating the living room, Chris: building a false chimney breast (done); fitting a fire surround (next up); then decorating and a new carpet.
