Sharon Mccall For sale - one right arm actually its free to a good home - one not so careful owner who is currently wishing she could find a way to move said arm in such a way that the muscles do not protest however that is easier said than done - on that note back to crossfit tonight to either cure it or kill it off completely LOL

My old Kindle Touch is dying on me so I've gone and purchased a Kindle Paperwhite and new case to go with it. Hopefully here tomorrow. Didn't think the new Kindle Voyage and it's additional features warranted the extra cost. At the end of the day it's an ereader not a tablet!

message 3111: by Skye (new)

How can those men all be reading and have headphones in listening to music? I thought multitasking was something mutually exclusive to women!

I bought a paperwhite last year and love it. I'm also fortunate to own a Nook and got the Samsung tablet Nook for Christmas this year.

My husband and I are both stay at home parents to a degree. He's home during the day while I'm at work and I'm home at night while he works. But everyday I come home and my house doesn't look any different than it did when I left. For the years when I stayed home exclusively and he worked two jobs he complained about how I never got anything done and he could do so much better, it's been 2 months now and I'm still waiting to see how much better he is at "multi-tasking" that he claimed while I was working.

Lorrea - tag team parenting as I've heard it called when parents work opposite shifts to be home with the kids is tough. Good job to the 2 of you for making it work.

It works well for us. He has days off during the week and I have the weekend and one day during the week, so we get time to spend together. I was really lucky to find the perfect job that gives me flexible hours so I can leave to get home for him to get to work and can go in after the kids get on the bus.

Heather Burnside (goodreadscomheather_burnside) | 385 comments Hi everyone. I'm looking forward to a busy weekend. First I'm off to see my brother this afternoon as I'm taking Friday afternoon off for the first time in ages. Then we're out for a Thai meal tomorrow evening, possibly fitting in a gym session on Saturday morning, and then off to a 10th wedding anniversary on Sunday. I think I'll be shattered by the time I get back to work on Monday. :)

As this is a chatting thread .... well ....

I clicked on Twitter earlier and the first thing I see is a group of undressed women breastfeeding their children, not just babies, toddlers too. The tag line being a newspaper is reporting how Facebook have decided to ban the picture from being posted on their site.

Here's the thing .... without wanting to sound contentious, it got me thinking. Why do some women, a section in society act as if breastfeeding is a new phenomenon?!! Is it new? As far as I'm aware that's how the human race got by for thousands of years??!! Long before formula was ever invented. Breastfeeding is best, we all know that, but surely what a mother chooses to do for her child is private and no one else's business. I understand the need to promote heath, wellbeing and what is best, but what purpose do images like that serve? Most women, I expect know how to breastfeed discreetly when they're in public and usually do, so why do a section in society have to jump up and down on the bandwagon of insisting on putting it out there. What purpose does that serve? Animals don't!! They do what comes naturally, don't see them getting the old cameras out and shouting look at this new wondrous thing!! Is it me, am I wrong?

message 3133: by Christine (new)

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments Janet, in my opinion, you are not wrong. I agree with you.

I agree but I know there will be an outcry from a section of people who will not agree with the ban. It was a pic of naked women breastfeeding - what is the point of that?!! What are they saying?!! They haven't just invented it?!! Anyway, I'm done ranting!

I have had this bad virus for 6 weeks !!

Last week has come back very strong, on steroids and antiobotics, cough mixture, and signed off work all this week.

Happy to be off work, but like you Sharon I miss all my sports.

message 3139: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mccall hope you feel better soon sean only thing I have missed so far is the gym - I cant miss hockey tomorrow we don't have any extra players this weekend for me to sit it out

Patricia | 1266 comments Janet wrote: "I agree but I know there will be an outcry from a section of people who will not agree with the ban. It was a pic of naked women breastfeeding - what is the point of that?!! What are they saying?..."

Janet - I agree that breastfeeding is not new and if a baby cries and needs fed, then feed him/her. The Pope recently stated to feed babies in church, it is natural to do. However, I do appreciate a blanket over the shoulder/baby's head rather than just whipping it out! My husband also appreciates a bit of modesty. But, women who breastfeed toddlers and the toddler can lift their mom's shirt themselves, that's another issue.

Brenda | 2434 comments For those of you who have Amazon Prime...and for those who don't, go get it now...I highly, HIGHLY, recommend the new Amazon-produced series, Bosch!!! Based on Michael Connelly's books, this show is great! My husband has not read the books, and he didn't want to stop watching this show. We just binged the first 4 episodes.

I've got Prime and tried to get my husband to watch. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll pass it on.

message 3147: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mccall feeling much better this morning thankfully - the cough seems to have gone for now and although the nose is still running its not as bunged up as I was yesterday :) hopefully hockey will cure the rest :)

I don't have prime I thought it was very expensive for what it does. I used the 30 day trial thing and was very disappointed. half the things I wanted to watch I couldn't as I tend to view things on my smartphone in bed and they don't show the programs / films I wanted to watch on that - this device is not supported at this time - therefore not worth the money if you cant view all items on all media

message 3150: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mccall we did :) score was 4-0 but should have been much higher however the result should see us safe mid-table and stay in this division next year - this was our first year in this one as we got promoted at end of last season
