Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments Here in Toronto, we have been in lockdown since April, and things are gradually starting to open up with restrictions. Nurseries open but not to the public, curb-side pickup only. Long lines at grocery stores. No restaurants open yet. It will be last. My husband does all the running around for groceries etc. I have been inside reading, cooking and baking. Most people are working from home with the kids out of school, to teach online by the parents. Full load. We will get through this but it will take awhile, and I don't think we will ever be the same. It took so many innocent lives and the elderly. Stay safe everyone and Happy May!

Saw this on Netflix, loved it so worth a mention here, shared in the movies section as well.

Firstly I was surprised when I watched this film as how much I enjoyed this great old fashioned style, good old days twisty thriller

Netflix film on Netflix called

Dangerous Lives

I really enjoyed it, good twists.

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 5526 comments Sean I want to watch that movie called Dangerous Lies on Netflix

Lynn Renee | 1707 comments If you are a praying person any prayers, good thoughts etc. are greatly appreciated. Hamish is at the Veterinarian after being sick all week. Pretty sure that he has a blockage in his intestines. They ran all his bloodwork and all his numbers are looking good, except his white cell count is slightly increased which they said the stress he's been going through being sick can cause that. Pancreatitis test came back negative. X-Ray's showing a possible blockage. They've started IV liquids and an antibiotic for the night and will operate first thing in the morning. If all goes well they hope to have him eating by tomorrow late afternoon. The house seems so empty without him here. 😥 He will be a year old on the 19th. ❤

All the best to Hamish, Lynn! Have you put up a picture of him in your profile? Probably kind of weird since we’ve never met IRL, but I sometimes think of Otto.

message 10766: by Lynn Renee (new)

Lynn Renee | 1707 comments Hamish made it thru surgery and came home last night. He has been doing well, eating, drinking, and his urinary and bowels are working. A little sluggish still from anesthesia along with the pain meds, he’s been sleeping a lot which is a good thing. His incision is big, two rows of internal sutures, and 26 staples. The blockage was an exam glove, we’ve been using them going in and out of the building. I’ve been so worried about Hamish that I forgot to get my meds refilled, will have to do that Monday. I’ll try to post a picture. Thank you for the prayers.

La Tonya Jordan | 55 comments In the virtual silent book club everyone brings their own book or E-reader and reads together quietly for an hour, then we all nerd out about books afterward.

We kick off the meeting with a quick round of introductions where everyone says their name and a little about what they're reading. We love hearing about what people are reading (often in their other book clubs).

If you think you maybe interested in the virtual silent book club follow this thread below for the next scheduled date:

Keeps me fit and healthy.

Thanks

Sorry to hear it. It's the times we are living in feeling trapped. I'm an introvert and love being home, but this time is wearing on me as well.

We are all different, I have been as home for 4 months, and I love it.....

So happy to stay at home and garden, read, and go for walks, and go to play tennis, see my older neighbours.

I do not need work, or go into work.

I work from home and start at 6.00 am, so still do everything in each day, no time to get bored or lonely.

Do not miss the travelling to work and back home...

But these difficult times have affected many people in a different way.
