Hi
Yes correct, They are still members, and they do stay in touch. In fact they, at the time noticed, privately to me how shocked they were about Amber, and how well Janet and myself dealt with her.
They regarded our group as one of the best online books clubs and did lots of research.
Have contacted me about the release of the book.

I have heard about your heatwave. It is about 85 here but the humidity is around 60%. Here in So. California we are accustomed to dry heat.
How hot is it there?
Yesterday Cambridge, UK... 40.7C.
The hottest day ever in the UK.
Records broke in Germany, Belgium, France, Netherlands, all around 40C to 41 C
Around 103 F

There is an interesting book Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years: Every 1500 Years by Dennis T. Avery I heard an interview with him a few years ago where he discussed a heatwave during the Roman Period in England. In fact, he traced the production of wine during that time since the warm weather was perfect for the cultivation of grapes.
The more I read - the more I learn.

For those who are not familiar, Book Pals is like a Buddy read, but it's just between 2 people. You two decide which book or books you are going to read. You can either read the same book, or you can each pick different books (maybe one you've read and loved that is on your Pals TBR) and then you guys discuss the books together. We have a feed for you to share your thoughts with all of us, but that doesn't seem to be as popular. Right now we have 4 people signed up for what I'm calling "Goodbye to Summer -- BookPals"
Please visit this link if you are interested in signing up.

I am so sorry for your loss, Lynn. Our animals are our children. They so much love. We lost one of our Lab brothers-Cocco (the red one in my Profile pictures) to bone cancer July 30th 2018. Now a year later, we think about him everyday, and miss him so much. His brother, the black Lab-Toro, also misses his brother, so we have to now take care of him. Toro is 10 years old and will be 11 in Oct. The years pass so quickly. I hope you find peace, but you know in your heart, you did the right thing, and not let him suffer. Peace and love. Sue
So sorry, Lynn, to hear about your dog's passing. We lost a beloved dog too in our family. As you say, it's keenly felt. Look after yourself.
Very Sad news, so sorry for your loss, RIP Otto.
All animals lovers will know exactly how you feel.
But Otto is longer in pain.
Life can be so sad sometimes...

Sounds like an interesting read. Thanks for mentioning it.
Lynn, sorry about Otto. Glad you have a Hamish to help with this transition.
Patrick Swayze would have been 67 years old today....
Robert Redford was 83 years old today...
RIP Peter Fonda who died on Friday age 79 years old.
Back to work after 9 days off work.... not nice
When is my next holiday.....

Lynn, I'm so sorry! I know the heartbreak you're feeling. I loved all the stories you told here on Goodreads about Otto, and the pictures you shared. I know you will miss him.

Today, celebrated my birthday, 61 years old !
Thanks for the birthday wishes on Facebook, had many.
My head thinks I am 25, my body feels 61 some days.
Especially as surgery on a hand on October 22nd, and some cancer moles removed, and to be moved shortly as well.
September 29th play tennis for Jersey, playing 6 to 9 sets of tennis in the one day.
Eight men and eight ladies, I play at number one for the men, and number 1 in the mixed.
Diabetes problems as well lately...

Yes, thanks.
Been very busy lately.
Off next week, holiday at home...
Playing Tennis next weekend for Jersey.
October, late surgery on left hand, and surgery on right shoulder...
Also diabetes a little up and down as well.
Busy sorting out work for our final renovations in our home, downstairs new cloakroom, new flooring, new fittings, new decoration.
So so busy, and always watching tennis (Laver Cup this week)
