AT&T is not nice, Groovy. Try T Mobile pay as you go if you don't use tons of minutes.

message 5902: by Aymen (new)

Aymen Ben cheikh Thank you Pat and Ter'e :)

message 5903: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale The hot bath sounds like it'd be good for sciatica as well, Sean.

message 5904: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Christine, I was just talking to my daughter about shutting off the phone line and getting a pay-as-you-go service. Thanks, I'm going to look into T Mobile.

I'm done with ATT!

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments Groovy, did you see the news tonight? AT&T being fined $100 million for misleading their customers about one of their program offers (unlimited texting--internet service is veeeery slow for those people who signed on).

message 5906: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee I saw that, Christine. First they offer unlimited data, then when their customers take advantage of it, they slow it down, and now they've stopped offering it. And if they have to pay that fine, that no doubt means their services are going up again. So, the customers are going to pay that fine with higher rates.

Thank you for the T Mobile info, I think I'm going to go that route.

message 5907: by Autumn (new)

Autumn (autumnmemory80) I use T-Mobile, and I love it. I have service wherever I need it, unlimited data, and cheaper plans. I have been with them for 9 years, and love it.

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments Thank you, everyone, for the well wishes. We are trying to get over a hurdle with our buyers credit. There seems to be a little glitch. Hoping our Shelly can help and we can get this thing sold........the boxes are driving me to drink!
This will be the last time I move, I can tell you that.

Sean, I sympathize with you re:your bad back. I have suffered with mine since '96. Sometimes you just can't get away from the pain. Rest and read...........

message 5909: by Autumn (new)

Autumn (autumnmemory80) I totally understand back pain too! I have bad sciatica and potentially degenerating disks (depending on who you ask). It has gotten really bad in the last few months.

message 5910: by Sue (new)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments I live with both sciatica and herniated discs in the low back, Autumn. I use Extra Strength Rub535, or Tylenol 3 with codeine to get some relief. Rainy damp weather is the worst for it. I think it is really bad this season because of all the rain we have had, Autumn. Take care.

message 5911: by Ter'e (new)

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments 5 fractures and 3 compressions here. I have horrible sciatica and am so careful how I step onto different surfaces. I do anything to protect my back.
I take my wonder drugs......Day-Pro and Tramadol. They keep me upright..
I sure do sympathize with anyone that has back pain. Unless you have it --- it's hard to understand it.

Thanks ladies.

Although a bad fitness fanatic, playing tennis for thrirty years, boxing for eleven years have taken their toll on my back.

I have a weakness on to lower discs, when I play too much hurt all the way down to my toes.

And one high up in my neck, which causes pain in my right shoulder and arm.

Most of the time I am fine, and run around like a lunatic, but sometimes my body is saying rest.

I have cancelled the four sets I was playing tonight, and the next 2-3 days, and hopefully it will calm down.

Sadly though of to the dentists for a root canal and filling and crown, so expensive and painful.

But good news off work for the next two weeks , and tomorrow on a trip to France to Carteret (on a rib, hope my back is alright), for the day

How life makes you think.

I had a chap called Frank Marquer, my miracle man, hurt my back, and my wife also went to him, we would always go and see him at his home and he would work miracles.

After thirty years of seeing him, he sadly died last week, after having a stroke earlier this year, do I miss him so much and the work he did on me.

A lovely chap, many people trusted him to work on their bodies, many doctors and nurses as well, and I thought he would just keep going, he died at the age of 84 years old.

Knocked a disc out he would go and put it back then back on the tennis court the next day !

Groovy Lee Another good review for T-Mobile--here I come! Thanks, Autumn

Sean, I hope your back gets better. And share your pictures of France when you get back. One of my books is going to be written in France:) Sorry about your friend.

And speaking of back pain! I've had back pain ever since I carried my last daughter and her big head rested against my lower spine. Now, whenever I'm stressed my back goes out, and I can't walk for over a week. Nothing works: aspirin, massages, nothing but staying off of it.

Amber Martingale Autumn wrote: "I totally understand back pain too! I have bad sciatica and potentially degenerating disks (depending on who you ask). It has gotten really bad in the last few months."

I've been OFFICIALLY diagnosed with BOTH sciatica AND degenerative disc disease, Autumn.

To everyone who knows I have diabetes: As you all may know, I spent approx. 6 hrs. in the ED at Belleville's St. Elizabeth's Hospital for an incident where I could just not get my blood sugar back up into normal range last Thursday.

Well, I had a similar problem yesterday. It took the contents of 5 sugar pkts., 3 pieces of candy given to me by the library staff, a (dry) bologna and American cheese sammich on white bread AND a half hour long nap before I got my blood sugar back up into the high 70mg/dL's.

Today, thanks to a trip to the food bank, I have a 12 oz. can of SUNKIST (regular, not diet) which I will pop open as soon as I feel the symptoms of hypoglycemia coming on.

Groovy Lee Did you hear the good news? In 2020, a woman will replace Andrew Jackson on the $10 bill. YaaaY!! About time! It doesn't matter to me who it is, whether the front runner Harriet Tubman, or the other nominees, Sojourner Truth, or Susan B. Anthony, just as long as it's a woman who has done so much for others. It means a lot to us females here in the US.

I'm surprised they aren't going to put Oprah on it:)

I wish T-mobile worked here. I got my son a T-mobile phone and he barely has any coverage. Calls are so garbled it is frustrating, basically we can text each other and that is it. Unless you are right in the larger cities the signal is bad. I have to use Verizon, if you travel and need a signal in the country. No other company has a signal where I camp.

Amber Martingale Decided I'd try a smaller dose of Humulin 70/30 today. Had hypoglycemic incidents damned near every day since last Thursday when I spent 6 hrs. in the ER. The bruise I got from the 50% dextrose IV in the ambulance is FINALLY fraking fading.

Amber Martingale Hyperglycemia is just as bad for you as hypoglycemia but on the OPPOSITE end of the scale.

It's the blood sugar equivalent of the difference between an EL NINO and a LA NINA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Ni%C... (as a reminder) andhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Ni%C... or the blood sugar equivalent of the difference between anemia and hemochromatosis: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anemia and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_ov...

Technically, the links are for those who don't really know about the subjects.

At least you have an idea for a cover, David. I have a book coming out in August and still no definite idea. I'm still writing the synopsis:( (but I wouldn't have it any other way) Someone did give me a great idea, though, a watercolor scene for a cover. I might try that.

Back from France....

A bit of a rush... Very let down with the meal and Carteret is nothing special, no shops a few places to eat, that's it.

We were in France 2 1/2 hours, very fast bumpy ride back on the RIB.

Amber I do know how you feel, my thoughts are with you.

Groovy, will add a few pictures of the Ecrohoes, a few small Islands owned by Jersey, where they are a few homes owned by fisherman.

message 5949: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Thanks, Sean. 45 units seemed to work much better than the 50 units I had dropped my Humulin 70/30 down to from 60 units. I did NOT get hypoglycemia.
