Good for you, Sean. Keep me up to date.Luffy, you mean you didn't like Prometheus? It was only THE best movie of the year! Almost, whatever Ridley Scott does is genius, even his tv shows. I'm waiting for Prometheus 2:) Somebody please tell me there will be one.
Sorry for that. I simply thought it was a frustrating movie that, due to its subject matter, could sprout a lot of references, and meaningful aphorisms that don't add to the enjoyment of this movie. Hope you don't mind. Surely you have some friends who don't share your belief about Prometheus? If Prometheus were a groundbreaking movie, it would be like 2001, or Blade Runner, or Gravity, and not spawn a sequel. I mean the Matrix anyone? Tron? Terminator 3? The best scifi sequels IMHO are Terminator 2 and Aliens, both made by the same genius. I think I'll stop here, I'm NOT on IMDB.
LOL! Thank you, Luffy. I know not everyone cared for it. But I noticed you didn't mention the Predator movies. You didn't like them either? Especially, Predator v Aliens?
Have only watched Predator. I was disappointed Arnold wasn't in the sequel. So I didn't watch Predator 2. I realize, Groovy, you like campy movies. I wish I did too. But really, I would have watched AvP only if it took its premise seriously.
another glorious night and another glorious work out under the belt nice weight of 47.5kg lifted in the strength work out of power clean. happy with that then used 28kg in the workout itself. happy Tuesday :D
Don't know what campy means, but everybody is entertained in so many different ways. We all can't see things in the same light, right? Thanks, Luffy

Totally agreed, Groovy. It's good that we're on different paths, met for some moments, and tipped our hats to each other. Have a great day/night!:)

Hello everyone, sorry to have been quiet. I've not been too well recently. Hope everyone's OK!
Not been able to get into a book for a few months, going through a phase where nothing is grabbing me . . . that is until I started Evil Games two days ago... great! Just what I needed!

Kimberley, so glad to hear you are feeling better. It's true we haven't heard from you lately. Sorry, we should have contacted you and asked how you were doing. Welcome back!Evil Games was great.

I hope you're feeling a lot better now Kimberley. I'm glad you've found something that grabs you. Sometimes you can go through phases like that then other phases where you read a few great books in a row. Let's hope you're entering the latter phase. :)
Thanks all! I'm definitely enjoying it Sean, Angela Marsons is an author to watch!
Tonight is the return of tennis to the grass courts.
I am lucky to have some friends that I play with every Wednesday, in the winter indoors, then to the hard courts outside, then onto the grass till late September.
It is so nice playing on private courts, and a little elderflower drinks after the game.
Groovy it I get time I will add some photos for you to see, at the bottom of our home page (some already there of Jersey)

Hey Kimberley! Absolutely no need to apologise, at all. Taking time out is no bad thing when needed and I totally get losing the reading mojo. I see you around on FB as you know but I'm glad you're feeling better enough to dip in again. Good to see you here. :)

I'm reading Evil Games right now, about half way through. I agree with you, Kimberley, that the author is one to watch!
Hi Kimberley, glad you found something good to read. I go through that myself from time to time as well being quiet. :)

I meant the fact that had he not marketed his book, HELTER SKELTER, as "true crime", he could have released it as a thriller... .
Hi all!
Just to mention that a couple of members on here were interested in doing an extended version of a 'buddy read' of a particular book and asked if a thread could be set up for this very purpose. So, a new folder: Group Read- Please Come Join Us has been created with the thread of the new book in question. It's a casual thing with no pressure and a relaxed atmosphere (hopefully). If anyone is interested in taking part the folder can be found directly under 'Book Pals'. Check out and see what you think.
Cheers
Janet

hey everyone...new to the group an was wondering if anyone can recommend a good read? I mostly read Stephen king and some peter straub...would like to explore more authors in horror/thriller...than
Hi Genya! Here are some nonhorror thrillers that have been very popular in this group lately (all got 5 stars from me):Silent Scream.
All Good Deeds.
Now You See Me.
Also an oldie, but goody, The Black Echo.
David, loving this book, have you heard of this author.
It is very fast paced and gripping. 25% in in one day.
My favourite type of book, assassins, tension, twists, gripping, clever.
About an assassin that no longer wants to be a assassin.
Hope it continues to be so good.

happy hump day people - I celebrated mid week madness by putting on my runners and going for a mile plod on the treadmill at lunchtime also a tough wee wod tonight and now settling down in front of tv with the book the laptop and one of the crazy kitties curled up on my legs :D
Christine wrote: "A tough wee wod, lol. No idea what that means, Sharon, but it makes me smile..."LOL WOD = workout of the day at crossfit this is on a whiteboard and everyone does the same workout. Todays involved a 12 min EMOM a 15 minute AMRAP and an 8 minute REP count :D

Thanks, Sean. I'm going to look right now. And I look forward to seeing the other ones.
Wow, those are nice pictures, Sean. You're just like I pictured you'd look. That's New Jersey? It's quite beautiful from the myths I've heard about.
Poor New Jersey--state of my birth and first 4 years of life. It gets no respect ( but maybe it doesn't deserve any, lol).

I think he was mildly senile for the past few years. His reputation and credibility was ruined when he publishedThe Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder. He waisted 3 hours of my life watching his dumb book tour talk on CPAN-2.
The great Sir Christopher Lee has died age 93 years old... RIP. (Confirmed today died on Sunday the 7th June)
Was still working, and had just celebrated his birthday.
PS He loved his tennis !

LOL! So sorry, Sean. I keep forgetting. But that makes a lot of sense. No wonder that house is selling for loads of money in Jersey of the UK and not the Jersey of the US! It's a beautiful place. I should have known the difference:)
Yesterday, a good man, 37 year's old, left work to have lunch at home with his mother aunt and brother. He was stabbed to death by his mentally sick brother. May God bless your soul Mouhamad, my friend.

Surely he did not expect to go home for lunch and be killed.
Yes Dawn this is terrible, we never know when death is going to take someone, i still can t believe this.
