Ter'e, it's a good thing I know what kind of "hooking" you're talking about, because "hooking camp " conjurs up all kinds of images in my mind! And for a great-grandma-to-be too!Oh my! Just had to tease you a bit - and I am a little concerned about the way my mind is working at 8 AM!

Just made 18 English scones. My husband and friends like them with butter and jam. They freeze well.
Lynn - I forgot to add my wishes for a fun and relaxing summer. Hope to hear from you now and then. I think I'm envious!!!
Great game of tennis tonight.
On our usual private court
My partner and myself won 4-6 7-5 11-9 , 3 hours straight from work, so just back, what a close game.
Pleased to service for the match and win.

Had a good laugh at my ignorance!

My husband was buying plain English Scones at the grocery store all the time, and we both like them. I told him I can make them. My recipe calls for raisins, but I made them plain, and so simple and fast. Doubled the recipe and it made 18. Next time I will add a little cheddar cheese to the dough, for a change.
Yum scones sound good.OK..I have to ask…what is hooking camp? I may need some help out of the gutter here, lol.
Back from a dental cleaning and they made me wait 45 minutes "past" my appointment. I hate hate doctors and dentists. I put a call in to my doctor to ask a question. She wants me to do a re test. I left a message last Thursday….still have not heard back. The medical in the US is atrocious. OK rant over.
I'm off to mow the lawns.
well went for something a little different tonight tried some boxing which I haven't done in a good long time. was good fun but there was punishment for not being ready to go when the instructor was and we ended up doing something in the region of 370 burpees. jees I struggled walking today tomorrow I could be using my mothers wheelchair!!!
Lisa - Ter'e has on her profile that she hooks rugs so I assume she meant a retreat to work on rug making but hey, that's my best guess. Better than what I thought the first time around!!! Like a camp rehab for hookers!!?Ter'e can you help us out???
Sue - a bistro in town has wonderful scones and I love them - cinnamon raisin, choclate chip, on and on.

Pat wrote: "Sue - a bistro in town has wonderful scones and I love them - cinnamon raisin, choclate chip, on and on."Yes, I made them plain, so they are less fattening, and then you can put some homemade jam on them.
Good for you, Sean!I make my own scones; I have one for lemon ones and they are delicious. I think homemade tastes much better.
I tried to mow the lawn but ran out of gas, and it's half done (story of my life) Now I have to wait until I can get to the gas station. I'm trying to get everything done before the weekend!
Sue, I'll swap you some of my homemade strawberry jam for some of your homemade scones. Wife and I like them with clotted cream & jam.
Relaxing at the moment, having just typed the last sentence of the current book. Feels like arriving at a destination after a very long journey.
Christine wrote: "What is clotted (gag) cheese, David? Hopefully what we call cottage cheese?"Ha ha! Gag. Not cheese, cream. Very thick cream, as used for cream teas in the UK.

Christine wrote: "Yay, David! Congratulations!! Getting excited..."Bit of work to do yet, but from my perspective, that's the hard part completed :~)
Christine wrote: "What is clotted (gag) cheese, David? Hopefully what we call cottage cheese?"LOL, I was wondering the same thing Christine. I wasn't thinking cottage cheese though. I'm not sure what I was thinking but the "clotted" brings to mind blood or curdled milk. Yuck!
David wrote: "Relaxing at the moment, having just typed the last sentence of the current book. Feels like arriving at a destination after a very long journey."Congratulations David!!!! You must feel really good right about now.
clotted cream is a very thick cream Christine - no cheese involved lolClotted cream (sometimes called scalded, clouted, Devonshire or Cornish cream) is a thick cream made by indirectly heating full-cream cow's milk using steam or a water bath and then leaving it in shallow pans to cool slowly. During this time, the cream content rises to the surface and forms 'clots' or 'clouts'
