Lisa and Sharon - I'll finish a book and then feel as if I have nothing to read and end up buying a bunch more. I'll never finish them all!

You've won this round Brenda!"
Love it!!!

105kg deadlift one rep max for me tonight :Dsonya sorry about your friend. I have a friend who has just finished chemo / radiation therapy so hopefully the news is good for her
I have over 500 books in my loft - most of which I have read
Sonya, sorry for the loss of your dear friend. So sad.Pat, I'm exactly the same, I buy more books than I could possibly ever read! I like to be covered for all the different moods I might be in! I feel like striking out and reading something a bit different at the moment so I'm busy researching new authors.
I agree DA. I am never sure of my mood so I try to cover all the bases. BUT, I worry that I'm missing the next big thing so I have to keep getting more. I buy so much that I think I still will miss " the next big thing" because I own it just haven't read it?!!
My biggest fear is that I'll die before I even get through half the books I have on my TBR list. I feel like I'm playing catch up with a lot of older books and by the time I get to the newer ones, years will have gone by again. Wish I could read faster. :D
Yep, Freda. I worry which book I will be reading when I die (a bit morbid) and how I'll feel about never getting to the ending!! Oh, the things I think about??!!
Pat wrote: "Oh, they will have to knock me over to get to my books for burning!! I always find bookstores when we are on vacation and those are my souvenirs. I write where and when I purchased my books on the..."what a great idea Pat! I know I have had to pay overweight luggage surcharges plenty of times when travelling! Now I just take my Kindle.....
Called into the bookstore last night on the way home (just because it was still open) and came out with Cop Town by Karin Slaughter and The Girl Next Door by Ruth Rendell - my justification is that they are both on my TBR list 8:D
And I have given away a book today to my local friendly policewoman - Mark Billingham's Sleepyhead...so not a bad outcome!
I would like to share this link of an amazing 80yr old woman who never gave up. If you like to listen to piano music, you will love this, it took her 65yrs create this masterpiece, playing it on the streets of Melbourne Australia, for all passerby to enjoy.http://www.dailyliked.net/old-lady-st...
Pat wrote: "Yep, Freda. I worry which book I will be reading when I die (a bit morbid) and how I'll feel about never getting to the ending!! Oh, the things I think about??!!"Hello, My name is Lynn and I am a book addict and hoarder. The one good thing is that the 1,000+ books I currently own to read are on my Kindle. Otherwise you possibly would have to call and report a hazardous situation. If I had that many hard back books in my very small apartment I very well could become trapped in a bookslide.

I have The Girl Next Door but haven't read yet. No justifications needed!

Hi Lynn!! LOL!! We are all addicts here.
I have my reading chair surrounded with books. My husband thinks I'm going to disappear into my own book cave.
I had donated over 300 books myself because I got married and had to make room for his! Now that I'm divorced, my bookshelves are nice and full again but not nearly up to the usual 300 thanks to eBooks and a nice laptop. LOL
Pat wrote: "Yep, Freda. I worry which book I will be reading when I die (a bit morbid) and how I'll feel about never getting to the ending!! Oh, the things I think about??!!"If you die book in hand you will look literate. Hope we all make it to the end of the last chapter, though. I remember when my mother's neighbors helped clear out her house after she died. They were amazed at all the books, and said, "She must have been an incredibly intelligent woman to have read all those." She was. She actually had read most of them, but I'm sure a big to-read list could leave the same impression. Live long and read. :)
Amber - I heard a news story that Hillary Clinton keeps her mother's last book, still bookmarked, on her end table to remember her. I think that would be a great way for my kids to remember me. Live long and read. I love that!
hairdressers this morning :) finally!! supposed to have been there last weekend but car wouldn't start so managing to go today woohooother than that I am going to make the most of the nice weather and maybe sit outside with a book depending if the temp picks up enough
Sean wrote: "Tin God by Stacy Green is free today on Book Bub"Tin God is a really good read, everyone!
I have this already on my kindle and am currently finding it a bit dull and not that interesting however I am hoping it will pick up
Good morning everyone. Thanks for the tip off about the Stacy Green book, which is still free on Amazon. Thanks to this group I'm discovering new thriller writers all the time. The only trouble is, I never have enough time to read all the books I want to read. :)
Ok, I'm back. The kids were off school for a couple of weeks and frankly even I need a break sometimes!! Hope you're all doing well.
welcome back janet :) we have missed you. I know I go on about my fitness stuff a bit - what can I say i'm obsessed! but today is my one year birthday of when I started crossfit and I cannot say I don't think I have ever been happier :) I love the people I train with I love the workouts I do and I love the support that the coaches give. to me this is huge cos I have tried many gyms and various methods of trying to feed the fitness junkie that hides in me and this combined with my hockey seems to be doing the trick

Sounds great!
Sharon, that is so great to hear. It's so hard to get to "that place" and it looks like you have achieved it! Congratulations!
Christine wrote: "Sharon, that is so great to hear. It's so hard to get to "that place" and it looks like you have achieved it! Congratulations!"thanks Christine. there was a time after my concussion when I got really down and didn't think I would make it back and I think the wait to make sure I was fully ok to do the tough work outs again were the hardest ones but I managed to go back and I think in all that break has done me good. I am lifting better and heavier and enjoying it more
Hello everyone,
I also have been busy, reading a little, not posting a lot, seems life is hectic sometimes with sport, gardening, oh and that horrible thing called work !
Plus had to go on a 4 hour Microsoft Excel course today !

I threw my neck out Monday evening. One of those things that you have no idea what you did to cause it. So I have pretty much been stuck in bed not able to move. Pain meds just help me get a bit of sleep, but I'm not able to focus even on reading. Every time I try to read, I get through half a page and drift off. Hoping to be able to read a little today. It gets boring really quick when you are horizontal and not able to do anything. Haven't even wanted to watch TV.
Ouch Lynn, I hope you feel better soon. I've had that happen once or twice and it is really painful. A crick in the neck and you have no idea how you did it. Turned it wrong or something. I'm around today but nursing a slight sun burn. I went car shopping yesterday and forgot to put on some sunscreen or a hat. Was able to test drive a few cars but nothing stood out. I sure do like them Dodge Durangos though, they are nice but pricey. Mazie and I are lounging around snacking on treats and watching netflix. Sometimes you just gotta sit and do nothing for a day. lol
Busy with end of financial year stuff, costing out new season's menus, and covering for lunch chef who is on leave. 8:D
I am home from gym exhausted sore but happy. Weights on my one rep max for the heaving snatch balance are down but the technique has improved. And i am smashing the wods so am satisfied. Almost managed a complete yoes to bar as well which equals progress. Booya!!
