Patricia | 1266 comments Lisa and Sharon - I'll finish a book and then feel as if I have nothing to read and end up buying a bunch more. I'll never finish them all!

sonya sorry about your friend. I have a friend who has just finished chemo / radiation therapy so hopefully the news is good for her

DianeAlice | 142 comments Sonya, sorry for the loss of your dear friend. So sad.

Pat, I'm exactly the same, I buy more books than I could possibly ever read! I like to be covered for all the different moods I might be in! I feel like striking out and reading something a bit different at the moment so I'm busy researching new authors.

message 4958: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 1266 comments I agree DA. I am never sure of my mood so I try to cover all the bases. BUT, I worry that I'm missing the next big thing so I have to keep getting more. I buy so much that I think I still will miss " the next big thing" because I own it just haven't read it?!!

message 4959: by Freda (new)

Freda Malone | 418 comments My biggest fear is that I'll die before I even get through half the books I have on my TBR list. I feel like I'm playing catch up with a lot of older books and by the time I get to the newer ones, years will have gone by again. Wish I could read faster. :D

message 4960: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 1266 comments Yep, Freda. I worry which book I will be reading when I die (a bit morbid) and how I'll feel about never getting to the ending!! Oh, the things I think about??!!

what a great idea Pat! I know I have had to pay overweight luggage surcharges plenty of times when travelling! Now I just take my Kindle.....
Called into the bookstore last night on the way home (just because it was still open) and came out with Cop Town by Karin Slaughter and The Girl Next Door by Ruth Rendell - my justification is that they are both on my TBR list 8:D
And I have given away a book today to my local friendly policewoman - Mark Billingham's Sleepyhead...so not a bad outcome!

Hello, My name is Lynn and I am a book addict and hoarder. The one good thing is that the 1,000+ books I currently own to read are on my Kindle. Otherwise you possibly would have to call and report a hazardous situation. If I had that many hard back books in my very small apartment I very well could become trapped in a bookslide.

Sounds great Sandy. I read Coptown and loved it. I have The Girl Next Door but haven't read yet. No justifications needed!

Hi Lynn!! LOL!! We are all addicts here.

I have my reading chair surrounded with books. My husband thinks I'm going to disappear into my own book cave.

message 4966: by Freda (new)

Freda Malone | 418 comments I had donated over 300 books myself because I got married and had to make room for his! Now that I'm divorced, my bookshelves are nice and full again but not nearly up to the usual 300 thanks to eBooks and a nice laptop. LOL

If you die book in hand you will look literate. Hope we all make it to the end of the last chapter, though. I remember when my mother's neighbors helped clear out her house after she died. They were amazed at all the books, and said, "She must have been an incredibly intelligent woman to have read all those." She was. She actually had read most of them, but I'm sure a big to-read list could leave the same impression. Live long and read. :)

message 4968: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 1266 comments Amber - I heard a news story that Hillary Clinton keeps her mother's last book, still bookmarked, on her end table to remember her. I think that would be a great way for my kids to remember me. Live long and read. I love that!

Sharon Mccall welcome back janet :) we have missed you.

I know I go on about my fitness stuff a bit - what can I say i'm obsessed! but today is my one year birthday of when I started crossfit and I cannot say I don't think I have ever been happier :) I love the people I train with I love the workouts I do and I love the support that the coaches give. to me this is huge cos I have tried many gyms and various methods of trying to feed the fitness junkie that hides in me and this combined with my hockey seems to be doing the trick

thanks Christine. there was a time after my concussion when I got really down and didn't think I would make it back and I think the wait to make sure I was fully ok to do the tough work outs again were the hardest ones but I managed to go back and I think in all that break has done me good. I am lifting better and heavier and enjoying it more

Hello everyone,

I also have been busy, reading a little, not posting a lot, seems life is hectic sometimes with sport, gardening, oh and that horrible thing called work !

Plus had to go on a 4 hour Microsoft Excel course today !

message 4993: by Lynn Renee (last edited Apr 23, 2015 01:21PM) (new)

Lynn Renee | 1708 comments I threw my neck out Monday evening. One of those things that you have no idea what you did to cause it. So I have pretty much been stuck in bed not able to move. Pain meds just help me get a bit of sleep, but I'm not able to focus even on reading. Every time I try to read, I get through half a page and drift off. Hoping to be able to read a little today. It gets boring really quick when you are horizontal and not able to do anything. Haven't even wanted to watch TV.

message 4994: by Freda (new)

Freda Malone | 418 comments Ouch Lynn, I hope you feel better soon. I've had that happen once or twice and it is really painful. A crick in the neck and you have no idea how you did it. Turned it wrong or something.

I'm around today but nursing a slight sun burn. I went car shopping yesterday and forgot to put on some sunscreen or a hat. Was able to test drive a few cars but nothing stood out. I sure do like them Dodge Durangos though, they are nice but pricey. Mazie and I are lounging around snacking on treats and watching netflix. Sometimes you just gotta sit and do nothing for a day. lol

Sandysbookaday (taking a step back for a while) (sandyj21) | 5101 comments Busy with end of financial year stuff, costing out new season's menus, and covering for lunch chef who is on leave. 8:D

Sharon Mccall I am home from gym exhausted sore but happy. Weights on my one rep max for the heaving snatch balance are down but the technique has improved. And i am smashing the wods so am satisfied. Almost managed a complete yoes to bar as well which equals progress. Booya!!
