Hello my name is Lynne, I am 31 and a mother of 2 boys (Holden will be 1 this week of Jan 16th and Cylas is 8)I joined because I love to read and fanasty is my genre of choice. I have noticed that alot of the books you read and discuss are in the YA section (is it just me noticing this or am I wrong? Not that YA novels are not good, because YA books are good too!hence the Twilight saga or Harry Potter series)

Hey no worries I'm a mommy too. I have two boys also they are 4 and 2. And I'm right behind you in age at 27.

Hi. I'm Donna. I grew up on JRR Tolkien, Anne McCaffrey, Terry Brooks, Andre Norton and David Eddings. I used to read a lot of sci fi in addition to fantasy but I like fantasy better, although I still love Star Wars (the original trilogy, not the icky prequels) and Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica(the original mini series).
My current fantasy faves also include Sharon Shinn and newcomer Lynn Kurland. I also love historicals, which, really are pretty much fantasy with some extra work in the research department. I'm published in Regency and am about to be published in fantasy, a book I wrote about 20 year ago and about 20 million revisions ago ;-) I just picked up a book by Robin Hobb and am looking forward to discovering her books.

Hi there! My name is Melanie (call me Mel), I've been reading fantasy since I discovered Harry Potter when I was 11 (I'm now 22). I read everything: I love YA books (Twilight saga, House of Night, Vampire Academy...), have just ordered Fallen and Shiver, but also read adult fantasy/PR (Mercedes Lackey,Laurell K. Hamilton,Sherrilyn Kenyon,Tanya Huff,Robin Hobb,Fiona Macintosh,Brent Weeks,Tolkien, J.R.R.... I'm studying law (criminal justice major) and am working two part-time jobs to pay for my habit(my book-buying addiction). I read 1 to 2 books a day, and luckily my boyfriend doesn't mind me leaving the light on at night to finish "one more chapter" (or five!!!;-p)..
I love any book with vampires, mythology, shapeshifters, wizards, you name it (but not a big sci-fi fan)!

And Christian, I think the non-readers are the nerds! They don't know what they're missing
