need a horror recomendation

i absolutely love john saul his books always suprise me even tho i know just about everyone is going to be dead by the end, but ive read all his ive read tons and tons of horror and im running out ive done the normal stuff king, koontz, andrews,siegler, everything, id love for some out of left field suggetions like saul, something that might not be insanely popular, thanks in advance :)

also any isolation horror, like group of people stuck in a area or house or room and have to get out with the killer being supernatural or normal just want it dark and scary, also ive read alot of them lol i cant seem to find anything i havent read so any suggestion is beyond welcome

Hi I've just recently finished my first Tim Curran's book - Dead Sea, that would cut your description, the only thing it's on the sea (Bermuda triangle story...sort of) and not in a room :)

I usually recommend as well Jack Kilbourne's Endurance and Trapped.

Sorry can't post links as I'm posting from my mobile app. The above books are all great and loved by horror lovers, at least the ones that recommended it and vice versa.

I'm still myself discovering some authors as I have had some years of literature darkness lol but kindle helped to enlighten me :)

A horror group read this month is The Strain trilogy - read all 3 and absolutely loved them; post apocalyptic vampire story with a techno thriller start lol (that's a little loose description based on my and other's impressions and sorry if km mentioning something you already know :)) happy reading, xxx

Hi Alexus, I'm just about to finish The Terror and it definitely fits that description. If you haven't read it already I would recommend it.

Alexus, some authors/books you may want to check out: Nate Kenyon (Sparrow Rock) and Brian Keene (Urban Gothic--if you have a strong stomach). Several of Jack Ketchum's books might fit the bill as well, so you may want to run a search on him and sort through the descriptions (though The Girl Next Door immediately springs to mind).

Alexus, check out Michaelbrent Collings. Strangers is a great isolation story. I've loved everything that I've read by Collings. I second Jack Ketchum. And Brett McBean is really good.

You might really enjoy my series, Bedtime Tales of Horror on Amazon. I have several horror novels on the way as well. They tebd to be short but fun.

Alexus, this may be slightly away from your request, but my debut novella The Customer Is Always... is set in an office, from the perspective of one guy. Who takes a call from a psychopath. Not so much supernatural as realistic and gritty (according to the reviews).

It's more of a thriller then horror but it has a heavy horror influence. I had a blast writing it too.

Its sort of a SF-horror cross but Who Goes There? John W. Campbell Jr. sounds like it ticks most of your boxes. Its quite an old novella so might read to some as a bit dated. The film "the thing" was based on it but it is an exciting and very effective read.

White is shorter and I didn't find it very scary, but it does the isolation part really well.

also if any are on audio books would be lovely to know as much as i love to read i work 16 hour shifts at work, and i listen to audio books while i work....

I have started loving audio books but they are so expensive but even if they were cheap I can't get them as I have no credit card. I do listen to LibriVox recordings sometimes and they are free and getting better and better. But I'd love to have an audio book that is not 50-100 years old... maybe this summer if I earn some money I can get a web prepaid card, then I don't need to have a job and I can have it.

I recently read "The Troop" by Nick Cutter and it is awesome! Great old school gritty horror with a real element of isolation. I highly recommend it!
