@Eliza- I know the feeling. I think it's why I enjoy the Someone Else Pick It every other month- so I don't have to strain my brain picking my next book. LOL
@Debbie. Whew, yeah, you've been going like a house afire. Time to cleanse the palette. ;)

Talia, do not despair! It says on Diana Oaks' Twitter account that Constant as the Sun is due for release this year, so there is hope. I have a feeling that she posts sometimes on Austen Authors, maybe she's mentioned it there, too.

Thanks Ceri for the update, since there are a lot of us who have been patiently waiting for Constant as the Sun.

One Thread Pulled is what made me wait for a series to be complete before I start reading! As it is, I'm going to have to reread it when the sequel comes out. That's the thing with reading JAFF, there are so many different scenarios with the same characters that it can be hard to remember all the details without mixing up your books.

I'm with you, Ceri! Even when I heard many good things about Darcy's Denial, I knew it was only the first book of a two-parter and after the frustration of One Thread Pulled, I had vowed never to go there again. Finally caved with the Denial and Deliverance series and read DD1 before DD2 came out, loved it, and then reread it when I finally had borh. Fortunately, it wasn't a long wait in that case.

Ceri and Debbie, I'm so with you on reading books that are in a series. I hate when there is such a gap in time between when the books published. I had read One Thread Pulled (or parts of it I think) as it was first written on a JAFF website, I have been wanting to read it in the book format but have been waiting for the sequel to be published. It is so frustrating and mind numbing with all the stories published and non-published that I've read since I found JAFF, not to mention having read other books in other genres!!!!

Debbie and Eliza, so like Sophia suggested, last year I started reading reading books and doing ARCs in the romance genre. Up until March last year (I started reading JAFF in 2008), I read exclusively all JAFF stories. And when I started this challenge last year I literally went to town reading. Well, I hate to admit it, but I think I burnt myself out and had picked up some Romance genre books and was reading them for like 2 mos when I finally came back. Since then, I read all my JAFF books, and I "cleanse my palate" by doing ARCs in Romance. Though it seems to start off this year, the ARCs are in abundance (have 3 right now), so have been slow with JAFF. I will regulate them better because I'm getting itchy to be reading my JAFF books.
If any of that makes sense, LOL!!!! Oh and don't forget I work as a Home Health OT full-time so have all that paperwork to complete!!! Reading is my break from work and life.
It definitely makes sense. When I had more reading time I'd do one JAFF, one non-JAFF. Breaks it up a bit and stops you getting jaded. These days I have less reading time so I'm reading pretty much all JAFF, when I do get to read.

I've been on a complete binge of JAFF this year, despite having plenty of other things on my waiting list. I think it's because many of them are a bit shorter and thus easier to finish in 1-2 days. As much as I love, for instance, epic fantasy, I hate it when it takes me a month to finish a story.

"As Constant As The Sun" can be followed on the app and read on it. The app sends you updates too, which I love.

Thanks. I am torn between trying to download what is there or to continue waiting for the book. If I read the story that is there, I will still have to wait because it isn't finished. So hard!
 33. Apprehension And Desire: A Tale Of Pride And Prejudice - 2 stars

35. A Peculiar Connection - 5 stars
Phew. That last one was so intense that I definitely need a break now. Super good, but I feel sort of melancholy now that I've finished it. I need a quick, fun, palette-cleanser read!

I agree with Sheila and you Eliza. That one wiped me out, too. Cute and light, that's what you need now. :)

14. An Unwavering Trust - 4.5 Stars
15. A Winter Wrong - 3.5 Stars (I did not realize this was a series so I was disappointed with the to be continued end)
Okay - I took the weekend off from JAFF, but I got right back in the saddle Monday. Have a few to add:

After A Peculiar Connection + quite a few books I didn't care much for + long work hours, I've been bad this week and have been mostly rereading stuff. Though I think I'm almost decided to try To Conquer Mr. Darcy, despite the premarital sex. I mean, it's in kindle unlimited, so why not, right? ;-)

Re-reading is my way of comfort after bad days, too. Hope your KU book ends up good. :)

You may not care for the premarital sex, but perhaps you'll appreciate the way the aftermath is handled because both feel guilt over it. (Oh, and I've reread it 3 times! Love rereading good JAFF!)
Hmm, that does sounds promising if they're guilty afterward. Looks like it's going to be my next, then! Thanks. :-)

Mr Darcy's Letter also has premarital sex that leaves plot ripples so I didn't mind that so much as it goes to show why it was a bad idea!

Ceri, how are you doing? You and Anji are on my mind (and in my prayers)....hoping for news that your health is improving.

How kind of you to ask, Sheila. I am pretty much 100% recovered now, thank you. I have some twinges in my hip now and then but nothing to complain of. I should start trying to improve my fitness levels but I have trouble fitting it in as I work more hours now. Plus I am a little bit hesitant of exercise these days! Thank you for your thoughts :)

Thanks for letting me know. I was walking until I lost my walking partner. Now it is hit and miss...sadly.

I have an MRI scan on the 29th so I may know more sometime in the week or so afterwards. I have good days and bad ones - it's so weird and unpredictable.
Good luck. When our health is not good life suffers all around. A diagnosis is always good in that you then can work on treatment. Awful not to know what is going on.

I finished Consequences. I know that I am coming late to the book and am sure everyone here has read it. I avoided it due to the promised tragic storyline. I did like the book very much but was rather disappointed that Jane and Elizabeth fell into such friendly and comfortable circumstances in the tragic storyline.

I did like the book very much but was rather disappointed that Jane and Elizabeth fell into such friendly and comfortable circumstances in the tragic storyline.I also read Orgullo y Prejuicio. Novela gráfica but the english version which I was too lazy to look for the correct cover. I came across an Austen blogger who suggested this was the best of the graphic novel P & Ps. I have read a lot of comics and graphic novels in my time so I expected this to be a lot better especially with the recommendation. I lost interested quickly and kept thinking why did they pick this or change that line so much that I went and read P & P again. (The new $10 B & N flexi-cover edition which is fantastic for the money. Loved!) So, even though I would not give this graphic novel a thumbs up, I am happy it made me read P & P again to purge the other from my mind.
Last book for the week was The Companion of His Future Life. I love this book. I have read it before and now again. I still love it. Jack is terrific. Highly recommended.

Just to expand on that, Consequences is only one book, not two (in case anyone got that impression). Within the one book it is, indeed, split into two distinct parts.
I knew that the first part of Consequences was sad so I started reading it when I had a nice long stretch of reading time and I could read right through part one and into part two in one go. I am a big wimp with sad stories :)

Consequences is one that you definitley need to read with a box of tissues by your side, for the first part at least. Do like Ceri did and go straight through the first half and into the second and it wouldn't be quite so sad. I couldn't do that due to time constraints and had to leave it hanging at a cruical point towards the end of part one!

      Hey, don't feel bad, Talia!
I've had Consequences sitting on the shelf for over a year and have been afraid to pick it up. LOL. I should just cinch up and go for it, but I'll take the advice of everyone here and give myself time to get past the sad stuff and keep a tissue handy.
I like Jack's books, too, but I haven't read that one. I'll have to snag it.
Great work getting three more books done. :)

Rain and Retribution: One of my faves. I love this one.
One Thread Pulled: The Dance with Mr. Darcy: When, oh when, is the sequel?!
Edit: I see that I had this conversation already and the sequel is on fanfiction. I can see why I never read it. I can't copy and paste it into a file to send to my kindle. It is hard for me to read a lot from a website. Hoping it will one day become a book!
Edit 2: Just read on amazon conversations about the author that it is unfinished on fanfiction with no posts since 2013. :/
Rumours & Recklessness: A Pride and Prejudice Variation: Another love. So three great ones!
