I found this group by visiting your page, Tracey! Really liked what it stands for, so I decided to join!

It has lots of other links to websites that give ratings for books. I've not checked them all out yet but I think it's a good place to start.

I read a variety of books, to be honest, but prefer clean ones when I can find ones I like. I'm not big on romance novels (prefer my romance as a subplot) and I feel that in a group such as this there is more of a chance of getting a wider variety of suggestions besides Christian romance and Christian suspense novels because I can only read so many suspense novels before I tire of them--I prefer to read a broader mix of genres :)

Hi RoRo, This group is for anyone who likes clean books. I, for one, think you can add a great deal to our discussions. Welcome.

I would also love to see some kind of book rating system. I think just adding a warning in the description of a book would be great and shouldn’t be too difficult to implement. Not sure how to get that idea to all the publishers though.

I can’t find a way to respond directly to your post, so I’m hoping you read this. My daughter showed me a website I can use to make sure a book isn’t too “spicy,” so I won’t be assaulted while reading an otherwise fine story with a written pornographic scene. It is romance.io
That address looks weird, but it works. They rate books with 🔥s. 0-2 are some what mild or completely inoffensive. I have been so grateful to have this to look at.
Alice

Thanks, Alice! I am glad I checked on here. I will look into that website.

what a crazy idea to most but makes sense to those "to whom is it written." It is what He asks of us! "reading choices pleasing to God."
1 Peter 1:15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

Also Common Sense Media is great for age ratings on books and movies I just am too cheap to pay for it. I use imdb and scroll down to the parents guide to check for clean movies, I listen to songs with Apple Music which tells you if there are any swears, and I now use goodreads to check for clean books!

Hi Alice! Welcome to this chat. Let me share with you a few resources:
Clean Romance Books: Website with paying & Promo Clean reads https://cleanromancebooks.com/
Facebook groups: Hold the Spice and Clean Reads are awesome.
Also, there are some Clean Reads Promos running now with free or discounted books on Book funnel. Here are the links:

Hopefully you'll find something you like. I understand how difficult it is for readers to find something to your taste, without vulgarity, spice, etc.
Wish you all the best

The Hatbox Letter by Laura LeMond
Great historical fiction romance, with a surprise ending! Family oriented and a fun read, very appropriate for anyone who wants a family and clean literature audience read!
