I've wanted to read the Host for a very long time as well! I'm curious about whether the writing is like in the Twilight series.. like so readable that before you know it you've read half already :) Well at least 5 years ago it was. lol

This week I'm planning to finish Uprooted by Naomi Novik , and The Future of Us by Jay Asher . Then on Thanksgiving I will start reading one of the Christmas books I found. Probably Let It Snow by John Green

I plan on finishing Glass by Ellen Hopkins this week.Between work and school, I've let it fall to the side :-(. After Glass, I plan on finishing Torment by Lauren Kate and Dearly Beloved by Lia Habel. I just bought a whole scheme of new reads, so I'm super excited for the new year!

Brittany- I really liked The Future Of Us! I was really surprised by how much actually, I'm not a big fan of contemporary. The whole future aspect of the story really hooked me :)

Hi Kate and Lily! Lily how do you like The Book Thief? I want to read it but I tend to find historical fiction boring sometimes. Is it slowly paced?

Ohh, let me know how Illuminae is! I just put that on hold from the library yesterday!

I am currently reading Angelfall by Susan Ee. It is a bit creepy, but I can't put it down.

Jennifer (ladygator71) Welcome Kemma! Those are all great reads. It would be great to have you join our book pool for February.

message 15: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (ladygator71) Currently listening to The Moon Dwellers (The Dwellers, #1) by David Estes

Reading Graduation Day (The Testing, #3) by Joelle Charbonneau

message 16: by Sandy (new)

Sandy I am reading Salt to the Sea and I guess I am in the minority here as I guess I don't love it as everyone else does. I am almost finished but the short chapters and the changing of the characters on every chapters just doesn't have me connecting with the story and I feel like I am missing out. I guess you can't love every book. It is a great story but I feel it could have been better

I haven't read it, but I don't like historical fiction. Or anything thay feels like historical fiction to me! Most people seem to love that genre, but it always feels slow and boring to me. Nothing wrong with having a different opinion!

I have been reading/listening to a lot of books that aren't really mainstream lately. I find that a lot of these little authors that haven't made it big yet actually have a great story! I just finished Legally Undead (Vampirarchy, #1) by Margo Bond Collins , and Edgewood (Edgewood, #1) by Karen McQuestion . I really loved both of them!

I am going to start The Giver (The Giver, #1) by Lois Lowry this week, and then another "indie" author's book Fairy, Texas (Fairy, Texas, #1) by Margo Bond Collins
