As far as I can remember the book is about a group of friends, the main character is searching for or looking to reconcile with her father and is in love with her (male) best friend in the group. There is also a couple in the group who find out that the wife has cancer and they all need to deal with that. I think they were all friends from when they were younger. I think there may be a beach scene on the cover or a girl sitting at the beach or something. I read it around 10 years ago and remember loving it. The protagonist and her male best friend get together at the very end of the book I think and I think she locates the father but can't recall if they reconcile.
