I realise that there is not a lot of time to order your books after we find out which ones have won. The poll ends the 11th and the group reads are supposed to start November 15. If ineed be we can always extend the time of the group read.

Me too! I've ordered all the books, but would also like to read When the Elephants Dance and Harukor: An Ainu Woman's Tale so let me know everyone who's interested!

Yes. I've already got a copy of When the Elephants Dance -- so that is a definite. And If I get all the rest read I'll also join you on Harukor: An Ainu Woman's Tale which sounds fascinating.

Since it looks like two others will read When the Elephants Dance I'll go ahead and request that one for Nov-Jan reading cycle.

Good idea. I also have a copy now. Besides it is the YA read, so usually those go faster for me and then I feel that I've accomplished something.
I'll have to skip When the Elephants Dance. My library doesn't have that one, and the ebook is way too expensive! $14 for something that's been out for over a decade?
Penguin's books are always sky-high.

I'm #1 in line for The Girl from the Well, and I'll start it as soon as my turn comes up.
I had to request the other 2 through interlibrary loan, so hopefully that won't take long!

I will start with The Girl from the Well. I've ordered it from the library and I see its in transit so hopefully this weekend.
My library also has The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly which I'll read afterwards.
I had to order Mongolian Folktales through an inter-library loan so who knows how long that will take
I will see about the availability for Harukor: An Ainu Woman's Tale and When the Elephants Dance

My library has When Elephants Dance and I have a copy! I can start possibly next week after I finish what I am reading now. I could set up the thread anytime.

What a great selection of books!
I am really excited about this group read and am going to have a hard time choosing just one book from each list!
One thing to consider is availability. It might be a good idea to check first to see if the books you want are available before voting for them.
