And speaking of events, Jen, didn't you meet Coleen Hoover today??!! Eeppp!!!! How was it!??! "

It was fabulous! I waited around for my "letter" to be called to get in line for about 2 hours - but I was at the end so it was totally worth it. You always get extra time when you wait until the end. She was so gracious when I said "thank you for writing books I love!" She replied "thank you for loving them! What's your favourite?" Of course my brain went totally blank then so I mentioned audiobooks and my fav narrators and thanked her again. I got 6 books signed - including one for a giveaway on my channel. : )

Also - Yallfest is in Charleston this Saturday and I'm going to that too! Woo-hoo! I love my life! You should see all the books I'm bringing to have signed - I think the whole back end of the car is weighed down with all those books in the trunk - lol! Gail Carriger will be there so I'm looking forward to meeting her!

Finished my first read!

Again by Lisa Burstein 3.5 stars
Even though I didn't find this story realistic at all, I still enjoyed it! I didn't like the MC, Kate very much, but I did really like Carter!

Kela Esther | 101 comments Yay Joycedale. :)

I finally just bought e-book versions of the books I haven't gotten yet.

Just finished The Academy by Emmaline Andrews 4 stars! :D

Jen (jenwesner) | 1222 comments I am just plowing thru this list. Wow. Didn't think I'd even finish.

November 9 by Colleen Hoover was amazing. The Crown of Embers (Fire and Thorns, #2) by Rae Carson was good but Elisa drove me crazy the whole first 2/3 of the book. The ending was really good tho. I have The Bitter Kingdom (Fire and Thorns, #3) by Rae Carson ready to go and I'm looking forward to it!
I've started my next 3 but I'm not sure what to continue with next. Burying Water (Burying Water, #1) by K.A. Tucker will definitely be as an ebook because I can't stand Elizabeth Louise narrating the female POV.

It was. It reminded me of Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott . I really try not to read about children who are abused/put into horrific situations, but at the same time, I couldn't not read it because I like books that speak about important issues/difficult subjects without being too preachy.

I finished my second book, The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles, #1) by Mary E. Pearson 4 stars
I really enjoyed this fantasy! It took me a bit to get into, but about halfway through I was hooked! It left on a pretty big cliffhanger, so I'm ready for the sequel!

4 more to go!

☆Joycedale☆ | 310 comments Finished The Falling of Love (Falling, #1) by Marisa Oldham 4 stars. At times I found the writing to be immature so I wonder if it's her first book? It had a very compelling second half though.

Joycedale, it was difficult, but I did like it.

I guess yay in parts for that book? How was the writing style immature I wonder?

I'll try to explain what I meant so bare with me lol. You know in school when the teacher would assign a written story and make ya read it out loud. There was kids that had good story plots just poorly written, like they didn't want to leave any details to the imagination and the dialogue was just really bad? That's what it made me think of.

message 82: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (alexandra14) | 218 comments Done with my second book:
Bad Girls Don't Die (Bad Girls Don't Die, #1) by Katie Alender The horror part of the book was really good. I could actually imagine this book as a movie for Halloween. My only problem were the characters, specially the main character. She's definitely not on my best-main-character-ever list.

I thought it was amazing! But be warned - you should probably skip the last book. It goes a whole different direction and Kricket changes completely. You might like it ok, but I was really disappointed by the ending.

I love fairy stories in general, and I just loved this one! This was a nice, quick, fun read. It reminded me a bit of the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. Very strange world within our own, and very interesting characters!

I finished my 2nd PIFM book We Were Liars by E. Lockhart , and WOW, did it ever blow my mind! :)

I wasn't enamored with the lyrical style of writing. But the reveals near the end made this read extremely haunting and heartbreaking for me. And I did really enjoy that. 4 star read for me!

Well, I'm almost done with Sea of Stars (Kricket, #2) by Amy A. Bartol and I've started Snow Like Ashes (Snow Like Ashes, #1) by Sara Raasch

I don't think I'll be able to read Darkness Before Dawn (Darkness Before Dawn Trilogy, #1) by J.A. London though. Its on my Nook, and I'm having technical difficulties with it. And none of my libraries have it. :(

I finished 2 out of three. Dont think I`ll have time for the third. Learned my lesson now and will probably arrange for less books next time.
Both Seeker (Seeker, #1) by Arwen Elys Dayton and Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe #1) by Rosamund Hodge were dissapiontsments for me.

Madison (ramblingbookreader) I finished both Bitterblue and Talon. I loved them both, sad that Bitterblue was the last Graceling novel. Talon's ending made me want Rogue so bad! I gave them both 4 stars

I finished Snow Like Ashes (Snow Like Ashes, #1) by Sara Raasch and I mostly enjoyed it! I didn't take it very seriously, it felt more like "light" fantasy to me, and I prefer epic...but it was an entertaining read! Never really connected to the MC. I did like Sir and Theron, they were interesting characters. 3.5 stars

Ashly (ashlyh) Almost finished with Steelheart (Reckoners, #1) by Brandon Sanderson , not going to get to my third book, Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith . I'll read it next month.
