SOLVED. YA adult/ at least 3 books/ Atlantis/ mermaids/ 10 years ago [s]

Hello,

Roughly ten years ago I read a series of books (or at least the first one) that was about mermaids living in Atlantis. I remember near the beginning of the first one there was going to be a race between the five clans and the protagonist(female and around 16) was going to be racing(swimming). I think her best friend or boyfriend was from another clan and he was racing as well.

I think he did something bad-either cheating on the race or making it so Atlantis was no longer livable- that forced the protagonist to leave.

I think either in the first book or the other two books she meets King Arthur or the lady of the lake. Maybe both


The books I read were hardback and I think one was all blue.

I've searched through the Atlantis lists on goodreads and couldn't find it
