Jessica (Goldenfurpro) wrote: "I hope to get some reading done, but sadly this is at the start of NaNoWriMo"No worries Jessica! BUT Good luck!! I hope you have a WONDERFUL start to your writing month!
Jessica (Goldenfurpro) wrote: "I hope to get some reading done, but sadly this is at the start of NaNoWriMo"What is that? We do "Day of the Writer" at our school. It's an annual writing event that we do, and each period we do different writings. One fun thing to do is a "blackout" poem where you take a news article and black out a bunch of words, leaving only those that you want. They turn out really nice!
So, after some careful thinking, I decided to sign up and participate in this fun readathon. :D Can't wait to get started. I got some great books I want to read during this week (like Carry On).
LOL I'm so behind on my books and reading, this Readathon is Just in Time for me! Hopefully I'll catch up!
I don't know how much I will be able to read due to the fact that I am behind on school work and I have been sick for a week now, but hopefully I will be able to read a lot. Good luck to everyone!!
aww, I hope you are feeling better, Book Nerd!! being behind in school is never fun! I hope catching up isn't too bad!

Thanks Trisha!
Yeah, I had to see if I had time, but I have! So I am just going to party along with everyone else! *prepares the dancing and the partying and especially the reading* It is amazing that the group reached 10k members, and I just love our moderators for making this challenge to celebrate.
aww, Thanks Mehsi!! We'd noticed getting close not too long ago and started the party planning process for challenges! I really hope everyone has fun! and I can't wait to see your points jump and the books you read ~ your speed and ability is so amazing to me! :D
:)

You're welcome Trisha! :) Ohh, that is awesome, you guys did a great job on it, I just love the extra challenges and I can't wait to participate in them.
I also hope that, though I am sure they are, you all did a great job on this event!
Aww *blushes at the kind words* thanks!!! :D
I got some books planned for next week. Some normal-sized ones, some manga and also a few bigger books (Carry On, Illuminae and maybe Lair of Dreams), so I will have enough to pick from. Though it is kind of hard not to start reading them like immediately, but instead save them for next week. Is it already next week? Is the event already starting? ^.^
I am sure you will also do fantastic, your reading speed is also amazing. :)
Here is to a great event filled with books, fun, happiness and challenges. *raises a cookie instead of a glass in a toast to a great and fun week*

Maddison, you can use those books for pages read count only. To count the book it had to be read totally during the read-a-thon.
Bummer that's annoying. I was going to start another book, but now I'll just wait a few hours and keep reading one that I've already started. Grrr may as well put all my current books on hold for a week then.
So wait, I can still read my books that I've started and get points for the page amount, right? How would that work, though?
Maddison wrote: "So wait, I can still read my books that I've started and get points for the page amount, right? How would that work, though?"You can only claim points that you have started AND finished DURING the readathon.
Ah, the time has come! I do have school today but I hopefully will have a lot of time to read after school. :) Good luck everyone!
Jacque, will you pease clarify? If, for example, I finish a book that I started BEFORE the readathon began and let's say I had 100 pages left of a 500 page book, I cannot count points for the 500 page book BUT I can add the 100 pages to my page count. Correct?
She'll reply. I am pretty sure you can add the pages to your page count but NOT to your points for the book.
You can use the pages and book for your daily page count but not for gaining points. No points can be tallied unless the book was started and finished during the readathon.
I have a question. Can we re-read books and still get points for them? I have been wanting to re-read a book and I am wondering if it would count for points. Thanks!

Mehsi wrote: "Morning everyone, how is everyone doing?"Good morning! I'm doing well. I have off from school today which is really nice so I am hoping to read tons! I only read 115 pages yesterday.

Yay, good to hear you are doing well. Ohh, hope you enjoy your school-free day and get lots of reading done. :)
Trisha wrote: "How are you doing, Mehsi??? How was your reading yesterday?"I am a bit tired, and I had to get my flu shot today (not fun, not fun at all). My reading yesterday was perfect, I got so much reading done between all the other stuff I had to do.
How are you today? And how did your reading go?

I will keep this open even though we haven't started the readathon so we can talk about the books we may want to read during the week of the readathon or to get excited and motivated for the readathon! I know we all love to talk. ;)
Have fun!
