Bubbles | 4 comments I read this book back in high school (so around 2012ish maybe). It was written for sure in the 2000's (but most likely was after 2005).

Summary:
A high school girl is fairly popular and a cheerleader (I think) is dating a football(?) player. She comes from a well off family. She lives with just her mom. One day she is hanging out by her pool when some police come to her door asking about her mother, she lets them in to look around but they don't find anything. The MC eventually becomes concerned because her mother hasn't come home. She tries to go about her daily life for awhile but eventually can't hide the fact that she is living on her own.

She leaves and ends up living in a trailer and working at a dinner/coffee shop place. While there she meets an Irishman and begins a relationship with him. Later he leaves and goes back to Ireland.

The MC (somehow) gets her life together and goes to college. She looks into to her mother's disappearance and find out what really happened.

If anyone knows what book this is, it would be greatly appreciated. I found it randomly one day at the library and could never find it again.

(((((Spoilers:

The girls mother went off the road and she died in a ditch. The mother had been looking into her boss and discovered he had been embezzling money from the company and was going to turn him in.

End spoilers)))))

Trailer Parks in YA and Middle Grade Fiction

message 4: by Bubbles (new)

Bubbles | 4 comments It's not any of these. The trailer she lives in is behind a building not in an actual trailer park. Thanks though!

The main character is also 17 or 18, if that helps.

Is this a coming of age novel, mystery or romance?
