Irene Ellefson (iellefson) | 3 comments It was very interesting to read about the remaking of Darrow. He is being designed in the image of the ruling class so that he can infiltrate and destroy. It made me wonder how many of us take on the guises of those we think are superior to us without even realizing the compromises and sacrifices we are making. Makes me wonder! So well written!

Pliny, the one with the fancy hair and make-up that Darrow thinks is a woman at first. And Leto, who Darrow refers to as an apprentice, I think? Who clearly shows his disdain for Pliny.

Julie (fairisle) This is my first time through. I'm a slow reader, so the part a week pace works for me. I love the richly imagined Mars, and already feel emotionally vested in the characters, and I assume they'll grow and evolve. I'm also assuming that some less than altruistic motives will be discovered, but this is my first time reading. I am very pleasantly surprised by how his book. I'm glad that this group was the spark I needed to begin this adventure.
