5: A book with a title beginning with the 1st letter of your name

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
- Did you use your name, first name or surname?
First name. I didn't take the 'The' into consideration, though.
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
Not really. In fact, in my first draft of the list, I had a different book picked, but I heard about this book and wanted to read it immediately.

Did you use your name, first name or surname?
I used my first name (starts with a B)
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in? Not at all. I've been wanting to read this and it seems like most of the books I've been looking at this year start with the letter B!

I used my first name for choosing the book and it was a bit difficult for me to find a book that I wanted to read. I am trying not to buy too many books so was trying to choose from something that I already own. My choices were Kiss of the Spider Woman or another book that was quite long and the first in a series that I wasn't ready to start reading.
Somehow it never occurred to me to use the first letter of my last name ;"R" would have given me much more choices. But I am really glad I thought I was stuck with "K" or I might not have re-read this book from my University Days - I enjoyed it much more than I expected based on my memory of the first read from 10 plus years ago. I think that is one of the main benefits of these challenges - that little extra push outside of the box.

Did you use your name, first name or surname? I used my first name of course :)
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in? No, I have wanted to read this for a while so it was perfect fit for this category.

I chose City of Bones.
Did you use your name, first name or surname
I used my middle name and maiden name (both start with C). I technically haven't changed my last name to my husbands yet.
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
It was hard to make a final decision. I had a lot that started with B and with C. I started watching the show and really wanted to read the book.

The Dressmaker - Kate Alcott

- Did you use your name, first name or surname?
First name (D)
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
I did actually!

- Did you use your name, first name or surname? I used my first name.
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in? Nope. I've been dying to read the Hannibal series and decided to dive in and after Hannibal comes Red Dragon. Thankfully it was an easy pick.

I read Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee
Did you use your name, first name or surname?
First name
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
No. I sorted my "to read" lists by title and found this. I actually owned it already but have been resisting reading it.

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
- Did you use your name, first name or surname?
First name
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
Not at all....theres so much on my to read list

- What are you reading this week?

- Did you use your name, first name or surname?
I used my first name, Sam
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
Not at all.

- Did you use your name, first name or surname? First name, i never thought to use the middle or last name.
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
There weren't a lot of choices but the few I found did look interesting.

I used my first name, Elaine, for this one...I love my name--it comes from my Grandmothers (Vivian Elaine and Rita Marie making me Elaine Marie).
I did not have any difficulties with this one as I actually already had Edge of Danger checked out from the library in a wonderful instance of serendipity. The fact that I enjoyed the book made it even better!

I used my first name.
No I had two options on my TBR, and would have looked with my last name if I had't found any.

Frankenstein
Did you use your name, first name or surname?
I used my first name but the first letter of my last name is also F so it wouldn't have made much of a difference.
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
None at all. This was the first book that came to mind for this category as not only does the title of this book actually have the first 4 letters of my name (5 if we use my nickname of Frankie), but I've been meaning to read this for so long. The story has always fascinated me and Frankenstein's monster has always been interesting to me but for some reason I never got around to actually reading the original story.

I'm just on chapter 1 now, I took a bit longer to get through the prologue than I thought I would, but it's written beautifully and I think it's really good so far too!

That's what I was thinking while reading it, I was like 'Is this the right book?' but I guess it'll probably make sense later on.

I used my first name.
I had not problem finding a book was was interested in.
I enjoyed the book. It was an interesting alien story set mainly on another planet and China.

Aunt Dimity's Death
- Did you use your name, first name or surname?
My first name, Abigale.
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
Not at all, I own a Dimity book and it wasn't the first one, so I found the first one!

Killing Floor
Did you use your name, first name or surname?
I used my first name.
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
No. I like this type of book so I searched for this type of book and it wasn't too hard.

Again, what a disappointment!! The plot was perfect, I love fragile and hurt characters, but this was just ridicolous! The 'plot' resists for maybe 30 pages, than.. Puff :(
Plus, all through the 350 pages, I didn't understand what brought Connor and Jared together!
I didn't have any difficulties in finding it, the m/m genre is a favourite of mine :)

- Did you use your name, first name or surname? surname
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in? yes, K and J are not very common letters

- Did you use your name, first name or surname?
First since it seemed the easiest :-)
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
Not at all but A is kind of easy. I had several choices on my bookshelf.

Mistress to the Crown
Did you use your name, first name or surname?
I used my first name for this one
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
I've owned this book for a long time and I plan on reading all the books that I have lying around that I haven't started yet.

I had originally planned on reading Penguin Island but this one came in, on my library holds, and I realized it started with a P. So, it wasn't difficult to choose. It was pure chance!

The Martian by Andy Weir
Did you use your name, first name or surname?
My first name (Molly)
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
Nope, not at all. I had several books I wanted to read for this one, but The Martian won out because I thought it would be the best audiobook. (And it is a great audiobook!)
What are you reading this week?
Little Black Lies by Sharon Bolton
Did you use your name, first name or surname?
First name
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
I had just added it to my TBR when I made my list and was trying to find somewhere to put it. So I got lucky :)

Rebecca
- Did you use your name, first name or surname?
Not only did I use the first letter of my first name, I used my first name!
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
There were a lot of books I could have chosen, however I bought this one at a second hand shop about 6 years ago and am yet to read it.

I used my first name. S is a very easy letter to find at the beginning of titles.

I'm actually a bit late on update posts, I read this a little while ago already:
The Knife of Never Letting Go - Patrick Ness
- Did you use your name, first name or surname?
First name
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
I'm pretty sure this was already on my TBR list, and I'm definitely glad I chose it! It's been one of my favourite reads for this year so far.

Room
Did you use your name, first name or surname?
I used my first name. It never even occurred to me that anything else was an option.
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
No, not at all. There are a ton of books starting with R. I chose this one very easily since I'd actually decided that I wanted to read it sometime this year, and looked for a prompt that it would fit afterwards.

The Lost Language of Cranes by David Leavitt
Did you use your name, first name or surname?
Surname
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
I had a bunch of library books and hoped to find one that worked with either my first or surname!

Emily: The Diary of a Hard-Worked Woman
Did you use your name, first name or surname?
I decided to go full-on and use my entire first name, not just its first letter.
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
No, I saw this on the clearance shelf at Half Priced Books and was attracted by the combo of my name and the fact that it was a diary. (I'm fascinated by people's diaries.) It turned out to be a boring read, but I powered through it.

Central Park Song
- Did you use your name, first name or surname?
First Name and Surname - Celia Phillips
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
Yes. I had to buy a book to fit the clue. This is a screenplay. It should be an interesting read.

The Killing Floor by Peter Turnbull
Did you use first name or surname?
First Name
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
No.

The Magicians
Did you use your name, first name or surname?
I used my first name
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
Not really. I thought I would love this book since it's been described as a cross between Harry Potter and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. But I hated it. Really, really hated it.

- Did you use your name, first name or surname?

Did you use your name, first name or surname? First name
Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in? Nope, there were lots to choose from, but I always have to read at least one Murakami novel a year, so this was a no-brainer.

- Did you use your name, first name or surname? I used my last name. It starts with a B. K title books were hard to come by. I have no interest in The Kite Runner, and I was no where near ready to read The Kill Order.
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in? Yes. As before mentioned, K is a toughie!

The Rock Star's Daughter
- Did you use your name, first name or surname?
First - I went with my full name of Rebecca - rather than my Goodreads name of Bec
- Did you have difficulties to find a book you were interested in?
Nope, there was plenty, especially given we could use our surname and mine begins with S. I seem to have lots of books that begin with S!
