90s/00s Children's Book with Parallel Universe [s]

I have been looking for this book practically since I read it. It was fairly new then (~2005). The only things that I can remember are:

-it was a children's book, probably around 5th/6th grade level
-the main character was a young boy named Zeke
-it was about a parallel universe he discovers in his bathroom(?) mirror
-in the parallel universe his uncle is a cat
-the cover has a picture of him looking in the mirror and might possibly be purple

That is all I can remember but this book has been bothering me for years! Please help!!
