@Kasey I've heard that book is really sad.. I'm glad you're enjoying though, I own the book and plan on reading it soon (:

@Michelle I haven't read either so I can't say for certain, but plenty of people have told me A Great and Terrible Beauty is really good, so you may want to give that a shot ;) It also depends on your mood! One is paranormal and one is steampunk, I think.

Yeah I've also heard a lot of good things about it so I've decided to start with that one. Thanks for your opinion! :)

Fantastic choices! <3 I hope you enjoy all of them~ CoHF was amazing. It wasn't as perfect as CP2, but it was satisfying and I loved the character growth in the book.

I read The House on Mango Street for a class last year! As far as school books go, it actually wasn't too bad (the annotating and essay writing was, though :P)

Yeah I agree it's not that bad so far. However, I dislike all the assignments that go with it. Thankfully, I haven't had to write an essay so far, although it probably will happen towards the end. :)

message 59: by Lexie (new)

Lexie I'm currently reading Partials by Dan Wells, but I'm not really sure how I feel about it.

@Michelle I know right? The assignments always ruin school reading, sigh.. Good luck with everything ;)

@Lexie I haven't heard of that book, what is it about? I'd maybe give it another 50 pages or so, and if really isn't working for you, then try something else.

Having an absolute blast reading Lola and the Boy Next Door (Anna and the French Kiss, #2) by Stephanie Perkins right now. I love the characters in this book so much more than the ones in Anna, haha.

Kasey (kaseykinz8) | 18 comments I'm a bit late but I just finished City of Heavenly Fire. I loved it so much! I'm searching for another book as we speak :)

I had a major book hangover after CoHF. Personally I'd recommend a book that you didn't have high expectations for (like something random from the library you've never heard of) because you don't want to ruin what might've been an awesome read due to a book hangover, if that makes sense (: Did you like CoHF?

I'm reading Pretty Girl by Amy Heugh
...and my plan to reread the Hunger Games trilogy before the Mockingjay Part 1 movie is not working. At all.

Kasey (kaseykinz8) | 18 comments I absolutely LOVED CoHF!!! The ending made me so upset though. I felt very conflicted about the whole memory thing (trying not to give too much away, but you know what I mean haha). I literally cried at the end. I'll probably aim for something a little bit lighter and happier because I have a major book hangover. Sigh. I hate finishing book series but I love it at the same time.

Oh definitely, I was a mess of conflicting emotions reading through the last 100 pages of the book. Overall I think I was very pleased with CoHF, but I've told different people different opinions because there were some things I didn't quite like.
I hate finishing series :'( I mean, my need to know what happens always wins out xD but it's so sad. I'm almost always left wanting more, wanting the author to write about every detail of the characters' lives. Especially when it's a vague or not-happy ending. I know happy endings are cliche and sometimes cheesy, but they tend to make me feel better haha~
