Larry (boffa) | 2 comments Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.
Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin
Caves of Steel by Isaac Asimov

Jaime | 61 comments Neuromancer (Sprawl Trilogy, #1) by William Gibson - This edition was my first ever copy. It finally fell apart two years ago and I had to get another.
The City and the Stars by Arthur C. Clarke - I still own a copy of this edition from the early 1970s!
Radix (Radix, #1) by A.A. Attanasio - Same story as the Gibson. It finally fell apart in a haze of brown flakes and I promptly replaced it.

Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercy
and then it's a toss up between
Jaran by Kate Elliott or
Shards of Honour by Lois McMaster Bujold.
I couldn't ever keep any of them, because I kept giving them away to people.

Gerry Garibaldi | 15 comments The Green Hills I recall very clearly. Nice list. Thanks for recalling these reads. I'll consider re-reading them.

Gerry Garibaldi | 15 comments I just wanted to say that "Flowers for Alergnon" is wonderful and heartbreaking. My god, I read that years ago and wept at the end. Nice choice.

message 7: by Mickey (last edited Mar 27, 2014 03:08PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mickey | 623 comments All three from Kurt Vonnegut.

Cat's Cradle,
Welcome to the Monkey House
And Wampeters, Foma and Granfalloons?

Ok the last one may not be actually science fiction but has great articles on science fiction. Example Semi Quote: "90% of all science fiction writers has no taste, 100% of all science fiction readers has no taste". I think Kurt is correct on that topic, if I remember the quote correctly :)

ha! but surely you meant the elephantastic Footfall? that was rather an obsession, lasting years (and which haunted this group for years via various polls). but I conquered that obsession by finally reading it last December. and after reading it, not so sure why I was obsessed. fun but definitely not a reread.
