The 2016 Reading Challenge will continue the concept of this year's challenge, with 52 weekly topics. Users then choose a book fitting each topic in order to complete the challenge.

Eleventh poll:
Voting ends October 28 at 8:00am EST

Rules:
- One vote per poll per user

Now that we are in the final stretch, it is really important to look at how the suggested themes would fit into the current list.

Current themes that are similar to suggested themes:
A book with a beautiful cover
A book with a first name in the title
A book with a type of food/drink in the title
A book with one of the five Ws -or H in the title (Who/What/Where/When/Why/How)
A childhood classic
A book published in 2016
A book by an author you feel you should have read by now
A book by an author who writes under more than one name
A top 100 fantasy novel (The hobbit/LOTR, Game of Thrones, The Chronicles of Prydain, etc.)
A book from the top 100 mystery novels
A classic book with less than 200 pages

Pages that may be helpful:

Haha most of the books from the NPR have really cheesy covers :D

The choices were interesting, my top 10 was easy enough to decide but there are few suggestions I really disliked!

message 3: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) I agree Zaz. Picking my top 10 was very easy, but there were 3 I really didn't like so those were at the bottom. Knowing my luck, those ones will win because that is how it has happened in previous polls, lol.

Francesca | 391 comments I can't believe we're onto the last poll now! It's crazy! I actually liked most of the suggestions for this batch so I'm hopeful that at least a few of the winners will be ones I was hoping for. There are a few I didn't like but I just put those at the bottom.

Charity (faeryrebel78) My top 10 were easy pick as well. I have about 6 that I just really don't like. We shall see how the voting goes.

message 6: by Shelly (new)

Shelly I feel like this was one of my favorite lists. There were only four or five I don't want to make it. Hopefully, I didn't just jinx myself.

Ghostcat | 20 comments Just answered the survey, there was some categories that didn't interested me at all, but I'm pleased to discover that some propositions are very exciting.

message 8: by Carol (new)

Carol This one has been the most difficult to pick my top 5, but I managed it eventually. This is going to be such fun to do next year. I hope we keep this up for future years as well.

I hope we do too Carol. I love doing this and hope all of us can stick around and do this together for a long time.

Nicole I can't wait to see the final list and start reading for the challenge!

I don't usually read romances ;)

message 12: by Charity (new)

Charity (faeryrebel78) I'm with you Zaz I'm not a romance person either. I also agree that most of the covers were really cheesy. I guess we will see how the vote goes. I am ready for a final list.

I was a little scared when the suggestion was posted, to be honest. But I do have to admit that the list is broken down pretty well as far as the subgenres. I'm confident that I would be able to find something that's not totally cheesy.

Good point Kirin, it's true that I like too reading an happy story, which doesn't happen a lot in my favorite genres. From the list, I enjoyed Eleanor & Park. I think I'm more comfortable with teenage or "old" contemporary romances (which have less explicit content), even if I roll my eyes a lot when I read them :D

message 15: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) I don't read romances either, but hey, I figure if it makes it on the final list i'll give it a go. I even picked out the book i'm going to read already just to be safe, lol.

Marta (gezemice) I am not a romance novel reader myself, but there are many books that contain romance but have other themes as well. Check out this list - romantic books for those who do not read romance nivels: http://www.listchallenges.com/romanti...

I also highly recommend the The Rosie Project and Jane Eyre.

You're a tough one, Caitlin! I am always preaching the value of reading from across the spectrum of genres, but I didn't even consider suggesting one that I don't love. I bow to your greatness :-)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) Not a problem Laura. Things happen that interfere with normal routine.
