Finished my first book for the challenge and posted it on the read thread. It doesn't fit any current goals though.

Ok at least other two are probably easier to find :)

Its about the Greek gods and goddesses in the modern world and they are figuring out why they are dying.

New Goals:
-Read a book that is in the "Most Interesting Magic System" Listopia List
-Read a book that has the birthstone Topaz in the text or title

Here's the link to check if a book you are reading on the Listopia List: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/8...
I'm reading The Name of the Wind, which is on the list. But the book is on the long side so if someone else finishes another book on the list first we should use that instead.

New Goal:
Read a book where a character is a ghost

i'm reading the child thief on kindle but goodreads says it has 476 pages?
4+7+6 = 17 yeah? i'm 86% done of this book. does that work?
i'm sure i'm missing something and i'm super sorry for that
I have a book with a few ghosts in it. I'll get started.

Guidelines for Posting Questions on Tower Teams IV
Before posting Any Question regarding the Challenge, Please do the following:
1. Read the RULES
2. Read the Goals FAQ We keep the first posts regularly updated with questions and answers
Still have questions?
FOLLOW THE HIERARCHY
The communication chain is:
Member --> Team Leader --> Mentor --> All Mods
What does this mean?
It means that if you make a question that is on the rules or Goal FAQs you may get re-directed to those posts.
It also means that members cannot go over their team captains/co-captains (team leader for short) directly to the mods.
We over 300 players, and so our captains and co-captains help team members by:
- Answering members questions
- Make the bridge between members and mods
- Also, there are extra threads for taking care of team issues, goal doubts, and general questions on the captains group. So they have access to a lot more info than the members.
But my team captain is a mod and she said she needed to check with the others
Well, yes.
Mods are like mom and dad. If one of them makes a rule about an issue, the others don't say otherwise. We respect each other and don't step into each others toes. So. If something was said before, it will be checked if memory fails.
Also, mods are like doctors. Sometimes they need a second opinion before taking a decision.
Mods also "hire" external consultants. Some of the goals were suggested by members, so we need to check what was their original idea before making a ruling.
Mods are humans too. Meaning we make mistakes. But, we assume them, and try to fix it as quickly and painless as possible. Also, we have real lives and real live issues too. This is a very loved hobby, but just that. A hobby. Unfortunately we don't get paid for all this volunteer work! ;).
But my team is too chatty and info gets lost
Ask your team leaders to put it on a visible place. You can also PM your team leaders.
I ask a question and my team captain only answers it when I'm sleeping
Please remember that there are different time zones, and people have demanding schedules too. Relax. This is supposed to be fun. Not stressful. Is a hobby.
I don't like my team or my captains
Is there a particular reason? Do you wanted a chattier team? Or are you not into chatting at all? We try to pair teams taking in account their preferences, but sometimes it doesn't work well. If you prefer quiet, You can focus on reading and just check in to post your books. If you prefer a chatty one, you can always try to make the team to chat.
If you think your team captains are not doing their job, compile a list of things - and this is not book or personal taste - with objective points and PM your mod mentor.
If you have issues with your mod mentor.. then compile those, and PM the mod account. We'll work it out.

GOAL UPDATE
- Read a book where the page numbers add to 17 (i.e. 345 pages = 3+4+5 = 12) [Caitlyn?] [Tori?]
- Read a book with an average goodreads rating of between 3.01 and 3.5 [Shy?]
- Read a book that is in the "Most Interesting Magic System" Listopia List [Judith?]
- Read a book that has the birthstone Topaz in the text or title [Dragana?]
- Read a book where a character is a ghost [Wren?]
Goal fulfilled :) I've finished one of Harry Potter books and posted it on the our completed books thread.

After entering in Tori's info, our new goal was
Read a book not in a series.
I used Zee's "Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter" so she could get some goal points too :)
Our new, new goal is:
Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as contemporary - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable

Actually after some more poking around, Andrea's book "The coldest girl in coldtown" worked for the contemporary top shelf goal. So that's another goal down!
New, new, new goal:
Read a book whose author died 2-5 years ago

Sonya, what shelf are you using. We have you down as using 2016shelf. So the book needs to be on that shelf (you can have it on any other shelf you want as well, but it needs to be on there) and marked read for it to pull into the spreadsheet.
If you are using a different shelf for TT challenge books, that's fine. Just let us know so we can update the spreadsheet.
Right now, it's not pulling any books for you.

Les mis probably has one million chapters, haha.
Well it's an option if the goal is still open when you finish. We want you all to read what appeals, not read to meet a goal.

some really famous authors who have died between 2010 and 2013:
-Tom Clancy
-Ray Bradbury
-Maeve Binchy
-Lilian Jackson Braun
-J D Salinger
-Robert B Parker
This list is clearly far from complete but they seemed to be prolific or fairly famous (meaning I actually recognized their names). Thought it might be useful in case someone had a book lying around by one of these guys.

The Name of the Wind has 92 chapters so if someone else is reading a book that meets the listopia goal, let us know and we can shift things around.

I am currently reading a book for topaz goal, but after that I can read some book for listopia goal. I love reading fantasy, so that list is equal to my tbr. :)

Based on the books I've been seeing coming through as read, I figured we'd find an easy replacement on that one. And I thought since it was just over the required number of chapters, The Name of the Wind was better suited there. So we can save longer books (like Les Mis) for a different, future goal (like over 100 chapters or 1000 pages).
