1. Say It With a Song!: In honor of Halloween, choose a spooky song title and read a book that represents it. It may or may not be a horror novel. Some suggestions: "Thriller," "Monster Mash", "Spooky".
2. Perfect Ten: Since October is the tenth month, let's celebrate by using a book with ten words in the title, or whose author's name has ten letters. you could also read the tenth book in a series. Another alternative is to use a book that is a perfect ten rating (in other words, five star read).
3. World Smile Day: We could use more smiling in the world. To celebrate this holiday on the first Friday of the month, read a book that makes you smile, has a smiley face on the cover, or has "smile" in the title.
4. Jack O'Lantern: For this custom of carving pumpkins, read a book that has a character named Jack or is written by an author with "Jack" in the first, middle or last name. You could also use a book with a pumpkin/Jack O'Lantern on the cover.

DHASG October Challenge
Introduction: October is the first full month of fall. Hopefully, it's starting to feel like fall. If not, at least we can enjoy some good books and the start of the fall holiday season!
Rules:
1. Any member of the DHSAG can sign up for the challenge throughout the month October.
2. All books must be read between October 1st and October 31st.
3. A book may only be used once in the challenge.
4. Post or link to your final stats when you are completed.
5. In your stats, list book name, title and date read. Unless obvious, include why you choose a certain book in parenthesis in your stats.
