Kind of slow so far. There's a lot of backstory, like if you read Harry Potter but book one started in year seven. I really like Simon though, but I can't wait to meet Baz.

I've read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell so I wasn't really sure what to expect with this one. I knew it would be like Harry Potter fan fiction - and it's definitely Hogwarts-esque. As you said Gabi lots of backstory but it's enjoyable. Really want to know about Penny, Agatha and Baz :)

I feel like I need to re-read Fangirl because I "might" have accidentally skipped the Simon/Baz stories in that book oops...

I was torn between reading Fangirl or this one first, since I heard they're connected. I decided on Carry On because I thought it'd be cool to see them show up in Fangirl! I love books with multiple dimensions.

Still lots of back story. I guess there was a reason why Harry Potter doesn't start during his final year at Hogwarts haha.
