Page 81 (view spoiler)[ First impressions is good. I'm already liking this a lot more than Rowell's other books-I actually didn't like Fangirl very much! But this is cute, it's light, I'm speeding through it and I love the characters. Penelope seems like such an amazing friend and though Baz hasn't even been featured in the flesh yet, I already feel like I can sense the tension! (hide spoiler)]

Page 206 (view spoiler)[ Can we talk about Agatha because I really dislike Agatha. Like, are we meant to sympathise with her? She literally attempted to cheat on Simon with his roommate because she was bored of him and is now enjoying rubbing it in his face?? At least Baz is cute-those chapters where he admitted he was in love with him were SO DAMN CUTE. I don't feel like the Mage is a good character, he is super dodgy and definitely up to something. The visit from Baz's mom raises a lot of questions. (hide spoiler)]

Page 407 (view spoiler)[ Baz and Simon's first kiss was so perfect! It was good to see Baz show some emotion after seeing Nicodemus. I have no ideas about who sent the vampires which is surprising. I also can't wait to see Agatha and Penny's reactions to Simon and Baz. Also I think Lucy is Simon's mother, which means the Mage is his dad? It's a little confusing. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 57 (view spoiler)[Okay NOW we’re getting somewhere. Penny’s Mum was apparently best friends with Lucy (who is probably Simon’s Mum) and Lucy went missing shortly after graduation... and apparently Penny’s Mum didn’t like Lucy’s boyfriend (Davy - The Mage!) because he was too controlling (no shit).

The way The Mage is being described though... more Voldemort than Dumbledore (whereas he initially appeared to be a Dumbledore character). I mean... young and charismatic, wanting to change society, having followers who are kinda causing havoc with a lot of families, being controlling - and also a potential obsession with a young wizard (...Mage) that was prophesied as being super powerful.

Is The Mage a good guy or a bad guy in here? Has everything been some plot to prevent you from suspecting him when he was the villain all along? DID HE KILL BAZ’S MUM?!

End of Book 3 (view spoiler)[So Davy’s big plan to “save magic” was apparently some bloody (literally) revolution, a restructuring of the council, and “creating” The Greatest Mage (see: having a kid). How many dark rituals were involved in this? What did he DO to ensure that his unborn child (Simon - I’m fairly certain) was so powerful?

Finished! (view spoiler)[I definitely didn’t see that ending coming though - despite being 100% convinced that The Mage was the villain, I didn’t think that Ebb would die or that Penny and Simon would accidentally kill The Mage (what the heck happened there anyways?)

The epilogue was also kinda meh honestly. It’s slightly funny that Simon still have wings and a tail, but they don’t really seem to serve any purpose other than “ha ha he has wings and a tail”. Kinda annoyed that Lucy’s role was purely in the weird side narrative kinda way all the way until the end still :/ (hide spoiler)]
