Inside, Ajax looked very tiny in the large hospital bed, surrounded by wires and tubes that disappeared under her gown and the flesh on her wrists. She had canola in her nose for oxygen and a pulse monitor on her index finger. Besides the machines, she just looked like she was sleeping peacefully.

Her hand stilled in his hair, the medication threatening to tug her under again. But she fought it for a little while longer. Another few minutes went by before she exhaled loudly out of her noise as the corner of her mouth twitched, but that was all she could do.

Ajax inwardly whimpered, frustrated with herself because she couldn't open her eyes, or do much of anything else. It was visible that her eyes were moving slightly under her closed lids, but that was all.
The door opened and Cal walked In with his wife, McDonald's bag in hand.

Marie walked up to the other side of Ajax's bed and smoothed her hair back with a small smile. "We'll know what's wrong soon baby." She whispered

Marie stayed by Ajax's side for a few more moments before also sighing and going over to the table to eat. "Are your parents okay with you skipping school right now Scott?" cal asked as he unwrapped his sandwich.

Cal and Marie discarded their food. "Did you get the results back?" They both asked.
He nodded and turned on the X-ray board and slipped the two sheets into it, showcasing an X-rays of Ajax's Brian and skull.

"But you can remove it, right?" Marie asked softly.
He nodded. "I'm one-hundred percent certain we can get most of it out and use chemo to get rid of the remaining."

He nodded and left after checking Ajax.
"Scott, you can stay the night here too if you'd like. I could use the company and so could she. Even if she doesn't wake up today I know she'll want you here." Cal said to him.

About two more hours went by before anything really happened. But finally, Ajax was finally able to wake up, of show signs that she slowly was. Her leg under the covers shifted ever so slightly and a small whimper vibrated in her throat.

Ajax's face contorted into grimace, internally trying her hardest to wake to wake up. Her lips parted and slowly dabbed at her bottom lip with her tongue as he eyes flickered open, but just barely. Everything was foggy at first, but she blinked a few times to clear them. The first thing she saw was Scott, and her face immediately warmed up and her heart monitor picked up speed a little. "H-hey." She croaked, swallowing hard.

"Hey trooper." He said softly, but loud enough for her to hear. He walked up to her bedside and shuffled through the bag.
"Mm." Ajax hummed.
"I got some things from home for you." He pulled out one of her throw blankets that was in her bed.

"Help." She murmured, or more so mumbled. "Can you help me Scott?" Cal asked as she put the pillow down for a moment. "If it hurts just say so okay honey?"
Ajax nodded slowly.

"Thank you." She rasped and snuggled up once Scott placed her back down on the bed. "Do you want to sleep Aj?" He whispered.
Ajax nodded.
"Mind lowering her bed?" Cal asked Scott before setting the bag aside.

Cal smiled a little and looked over as the doctor came in.
"Good evening Ajax. I'm going to check on you okay?" He walked up to her bed.
Ajax whined, softly whimpering.
"I know you want to sleep sweetheart. This will only take a minute." He said gently.

"I'll go talk to him." Cal said, following him out.

The bag Cal brought held some clothes for Ajax.

Cal came in quietly sitting down on the couch and opening his laptop again. He wanted to give them their privacy, but he was still there if either of them needed him.

Cal glanced over at them with a small smile. he took out his phone and snapped a picture and sent it to his wife.
((just thought i'd do a slight skip along here lol))

It was two in the morning. A nurse just left after checking on Ajax without waking anyone up. She wasn't suppose to let Scott sleep in the same bed as her, but they looked to peaceful to disturb. Cal was sleeping in the cot in the corner of the room. Ajax shuffled in Scott;s arms, slightly squirming. "Scott." She whispered sleeply, forcing herself to wake up.

Her dad stirred, but didn't wake.

Ajax smiled and sighed softly with content. "Night night." She whispered, and allowed herself to fall asleep without any worries of nightmares thanks to the drugs and of course Scott.

Ajax smiled and sighed softly with content. "I love you." She whispered, unaware of what she said. She allowed her body to fall asleep again with out any worries about nightmares, thanks to the drugs and of course Scott.

Ajax kept her eyes closed, not yet ready to wake up. However, she could already tell that she felt a lot better than she did yesterday, and probably would feel better if she ate something.

"Morning sweetie. How are you feeling?" cal asked, walking up to her side.
"Still weak. But a bit better." She yawned again.

Ajax frowned a little when he didnt reply, but then saw how tired he was. Unsure as to why he'd be tired, she assumed it because of the uncomfortableness of the hospital beds. "I'm used to these beds." She patted the mattress then kissed his cheek, pressing the remote on her bed to lift it slightly.
"I got you an egg sandwich and some chocolate milk and a muffin. I got permission from Doctor Snow for you to eat." Cal said, rolling the small table so it hovered over both of their laps. "Thank you." Ajax sat up a little more, wincing.
