Gremlin | 966 comments **FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED – CHALLENGE**

description

The final three months of 2015 are fast approaching, so it’s time to FINISH WHAT WE STARTED!

From October 1 through December 31 of 2015 participants of this challenge will read books from the following "catch-up/finally get around to" categories:

One or more of any books in a series that you've started but not continued in over 6 months (Prior to 4/1/2015). It can be an ongoing or a completed book series.
One or more of the books that have been on your TBR (To Be Read) Goodreads bookshelf for 6 months or more (Prior to 4/1/2015)
One or more of any book that you've had in your possession for 6 months or more. Physical or ebook, owned or borrowed! (Waiting to be read since 4/1/2015 or earlier). Obviously we'll have to use the honor system for this one. :)
Any book that you previously started, but never finished for some reason (Prior to 4/1/2015) - Feel free to peruse your "put down" folders ;)

The Goal is to read 6 books. Feel free to Mix and Match!

Details:
-Books must be more than 150 pages to qualify
-Audio books are allowed
-No more than 3 books from the same series
-No more than 3 newer releases from 2015 will be allowed (must be published prior to 4/1/2015)
-1 non-YA book is allowed (Non-YA = middle grade, New Adult, or Adult).

I'll be keeping track of participants progress (as much as possible) in post #2. Participants will be listed alphabetically by their name and the number on the post made to declare their participation.

When posting your progress, please remember to use the number of that original post as well.

Sound good? EXCELLENT! Now, DIG IN!!!

Amber (amberm867) Questions about the challenge:

Is there a goal for number of books read (to consider it a 'complete' challenge) or is it just read as many as you can?

Is it just one non-YA book total, or one non-YA per a certain number of YA books read?

Hahaha! Amber, that is a fantastic question because I clearly never stated it! We're reverting back to our standard goal of 6 books (though I definitely encourage folks to go for more!).

I've gone ahead and fixed the original post, adding the actual goal.

You're allowed one non-YA book within each grouping of 6. So as soon as you've "finished the challenge" with 6 books, you can start the challenge over and allow yourself another non-YA (ad infinitum).

I'm assuming this means that you finished these books. And with that assumption in mind I say: You rock, Kelly! You're half way through this challenge already :)

Well done, Amber! You're on the board! (Also, you're now literally on the board because I just went to post your read and noticed I hadn't added you to the list, originally. Sorry about the initial oversight! But glad to have you reading with us :)

Jessabeth (jessabethy) | 20 comments Updated post #12. Do re-reads count? If so I finished The Notebook which I'd started last year but I have trouble re-reading anything even when I love a book. Also just finished One for The Money by Janet Evanovich.

Diane | 1234 comments I did it - I tackled The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater after giving up on it since 7/2013! I don't know why I couldn't get past 10% before but this time it was a hit and I am so glad I finished it for this challenge. I will be strange not to see it in my "currently reading" list on Goodreads. #3 under my belt now for #4 so many to choose from...

Day La | 46 comments Update #30: I did it!! YES!!! Just finished Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins ! This will be my first book done for this challenge.

message 48: by Day (new)

Day La | 46 comments So quick question. I didn't really start using Goodreads until June of this year. So I don't have anything on my shelf that dates back to April. I have a bunch of To-Be-Read books on my list, but they were placed there on June. Is that ok?
