Challenge 4 of 2015: Finish What You Started!

Hi Jessabeth - Sadly, I don't think we can count rereads for this challenge - since the point is to finish something you'd previously had a hard time finishing or getting around to. But congratulations on doing a reread! I do find them very rewarding (though I'm with you - I seldom do rereads. There's too much new stuff to read!).
Though maybe I'll incorporate re-reads into a future challenge... hmmmm.... ;)

Yay! Good work, Diane! Isn't that a satisfying experience?

No problem, Day! We totally understand that everyone has different situations and we can definitely use the honor system for this. (I mean - sometimes there's something I've owned or planned to read for years, but never bothered to list it. But I still KNOW that it's been years!)

Also, I finished my second book for this challenge by reading

1. UnSouled - option 4 - I bought in 2013 when it was released and tried several times to read, but kept putting it aside, but finally finished it over the weekend
2. Anna Dressed in Blood - option 3 - I got the audiobook during the yasync program back in 2012 and never listened to it -but since it fit into another challenge, seemed like a perfect time - it wasn't quite as scary as I was expecting...but a solid book; the narration was only so-so though
3. UnDivided - option 2/3 (borrowed/reborrowed from the library several times) - I think i might have had a mini-heart attack about halfway thorugh with what the author did; but this book was like night and day to book 3 that I really struggled with - seemed like he refound his writing mojo/series mojo and the conclusion worked for me - i didn't feel like anything was left hanging
4. Fairest - from a series, I haven't read in more than 6mths (read bk 3 in March 2014)...I think this is my favoritest in the series so far - there was something about the Queen and seeing her transition into evil was just muey bueno
5. Throne of Glass - i borrowed this from Scribd back in march /April and finally finished it (it had been on my TBR for a while before that - picked it in december as part of a TBR challenge); not a love triangle fan andthis started to get a bit too ehhh but i liked the idea of the champion contest and female kicking ass - might continue with the series in the future
6. Career of Evil - series continuation - i was really enjoying this entry in the Cormoran Strike series up until about the last 30pgs and then it was like presto whammo mystery solved and i was left feeling kind of empty (and looking back she did this with previous books as well)

i'm trolling my started not finished shelf to see if anything is catching my eye

Congrats, Dee! (This is a great reminder that I ALSO need to get back to those books! I super loved Unwind).
So real quick - did you say you were doing this challenge earlier?
Oddly, yesterday I went to add a book to Day's list, and realized she wasn't on my original listing, but I found her original joining post (#30) and added her. However, as I was doing that, I saw that I had YOU down as #30 - but couldn't find any original post to grab your number from. So weird! Do you think something got deleted somewhere?
Not a big deal - I can always use #58 :) But i just wonder if you know what happened.

I'm going to assume it was some sort of psychic phenomena! :P
Regardless, glad to have you on board!

How did you like Hounded? I've read the whole series thus far and love it!

UnDivided - I couldn't read it until I finished bk3 (which I had stopped and started several times)...but its been on my GR shelf (to-read-2015) since it was released last year and I've borrowed it from the library several times in an attempt to motivate me to finish up bk3
kosher to count it? (i've only just started it)

Considering that UnDivided came out last year and is part of a series that you started many years back, I'd absolutely say it counts :)

I think I am going to take Melanie's lead and read

Just finished my second book for this challenge! I finished Unteachable. I started reading the book a couple months ago but put it down for another book because I lost interest. So glad I finished it cause it was way better than I thought it was!

I'm counting this as a put-down book, but I also own a copy that's been on my shelf forever and it's been on my Goodread's TBR list for quite a while.
This was really good. I'm so glad this challenge encouraged me to read it.

I have owned it on Kindle for over a year. I loved it - thanks Melanie for motivating me to read it by using it as your book choice."
Happy to help :)

think its been on my kindle for like 3 years

Happy to help :)
also finished my 4th

Question - if I read the last book in the series now, does that count towards the challenge, too?

It sure would! :)

Anyhow - feel free to gently nudge me if you're numbers aren't correct :)

now going to finish a series that doesnt' count towards the challenge but i'm excited about. Since I'm doing good here.

I would read so much more if it weren't for that silly job thing...

You know, Linda, sometimes it's actually okay to recognize that you aren't finishing something simply because you don't like it! There's not enough time in our lives to read all the books that do nothing for us.
And I hope that you love Code Named Verity!

Oh golly! You've completed the challenge, Melanie!! Congratulations!!!
Feel free to keep going - either as a second go-around or just to see how many "finish what you started" books you can read before the end of the year! :)

Haha! Well, that makes things both more clear and more confusing. Thanks for clarifying your number, Melanie #14! (And I see that you did that in your post, too).
It definitely illustrates how helpful numbers are! :)

#4 was UnSouled, which has been on my TBR pretty much since I knew this was going to be a series.
#5 was Prodigy. I read the first book in July 2012 (I did re-read Legend to refresh my memory right before starting this one, does that still count?).
#6 was Empire of Shadows, which has been on my library wishlist for about a year, but I guess I didn't add it to Goodreads until I actually checked it out.
