help...need to remember book

lost alot of books when replacing ereader and wanted to read one in particular now cannot find it... dont know author, title or much really but desperate to find it as not only do i want to read it but its driving me crazy not knowing...
plot: they boy/girl meet in college live in same building and he has a tortoise, random but one of the only details i recall... please help
