Fade is more like the old stereotype of a retarded person to me. Goram was more limited."
I'm so frustrated! I feel that there's more to Fade than being a slave but can't remember what. Or if I'm just confusing him with Goram.

Lol I'm sure there's more to him.

Oh ok. Apart from these new ones I haven't done any group reads for a while

I can't remember the boys name but I think that he does have a Fury. I've noticed he hits everything he aims for. Also the l..."

I'm listening to the part where Tav..."
I don't like him St all!

I don't remember the details but I know he grew on me as the series went on.

That's one of the things I love about this series. Many of the secondary characters are complex. As the series progresses we see them in different circumstances and learn more about their motivations and how they handle themselves. They aren't straight friend/enemy figures.

I agree, no one is 100% good or bad. They're real and relatable, you understand why they act the way they do even if you don't agree.

The boy must have been Tavi but you'll see that he doesn't have a Fury.
As for Asana you'll get to know more about her ;)

I read your comment about Asana then something happened and I was saying in my head Shosho is so mean.

What happened? "
You'll have to wait and see, :evil snickering: The meaning becomes more clear in the next book, and continues to develop over the series.

Although there's hints in this one...

**giggles**

Maybe I'll get a chance to catch up a little then ;-)

I'm here. Been busy with a few house issues. The book hasn't grabbed me. **shrugs** But I'm only to Chapter 3. Plus, if I'm going to not finish a book, it is going to be of the Fantasy genre.
I might give it another go, but to tell you the truth, I went back to some comfort re-reads. Homesickness? Don't know what that is all about, as I thought I was settling here here well. **shrugs** Maybe too much change.

LK, it is epic fantasy, but not as much of a nasty free-for-all as Game of Thrones. There are several relationships that develop throughout the books, and it's nice to see them progress. They don't add in much personal drama as there is plenty else going on.
To me the series is more like Miles Vorkosigan in a fantasy world, but not as frantic or wild.
