I was originally going to read We Have Always Lived in the Castle but I decided that it was a little ambitious for my current schedule. I decided that a novella is much more realistic for me at the moment. And it was an excuse to read more Joe Hill so win, win really.
I ended up enjoying it. It did a good job of providing back story to the extent that a novella can and I did care about the characters somewhat. It was as brutal as a typical Joe Hill novel but a little on the lighter side since he didn't have the space. Having recently finished Sons of Anarchy :( the many emotions connected with bikers may have contributed to the enjoyment.
Oh! I'm looking forward to reading this one. We Have Always Lived in The Castle is pretty good, but has a few places where it just drags along. It worked well for the furthering of the story though.
