ABANDONED. Children's Book Set in Sweden About Boy Who Runs Away From Home To Hotel with Pillow

I read this book when I was a child and I would really like to know what book it was. I'm pretty sure it was set in Sweden as the currency was Krona. At some point in the book, the character runs away from home. He packs his pillow, and when he arrives at a hotel who tells the bellboy that he already has a pillow so if he could get a discount. The bellboy then calls the character's parents and they pick him up. I can't remember much more than that. I've scoured the internet for the book but I can't find it. Please help!

Reminds me a little of some of the stunts the kid in Popular Music from Vittula comes up with, but it's a really long time since I read that, so I might be off base.

I think the target audience was a bit younger than it is for that book, but thanks anyway!
