Chapter 1: (view spoiler)[How did she find a way to get the notebook? I would be worried if he was going to rape me actually but I guess she assumes he has a power or is insane. The way she is acting is perfect for what she's been dealing with. I would be scared to talk to another person but be so curious about them if I hadn't seen one in almost a year. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 2: (view spoiler)[ "I've been screaming for years and no one has ever heard me." There is one line on this chapter I don't particular like about glass in her mouth? She sometimes says/thinks weirdly. I know the bird is significant but I don't remember why it leads to a certain person. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 3: (view spoiler)[ Adam seems nice right now. She should question him more why he's here. Almost a year without seeing anyone and never being able to get a hug? Her life sucks. I love that she's so nice right away. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 4: (view spoiler)[ Aw! I'm so happy that she's happy when Adam says her name. She's always been alone and is obviously a good person after all of it. I love Juliette<3 (hide spoiler)]

Finished Chapter 15... (view spoiler)[ So, it seems Warner doesn't want Juliette just for hurting/killing people... but he hasn't really said yet what he wants, exactly, from her...

Warner's kind of misterious! I'm sensing that he knows what it's like to be "different" ... maybe, Warner, himself, has some power, like Juliette, too?! ... I wonder if he wants Juliette for companion, for a partner?! ... since she is powerful and she would assure that everyone fears her and Warner, too.

I now think that Adam must be a normal human... he seems a bit scared of Juliette ... I guess he really did not know about her power or how lethal it is... I'm hoping he won't pull away from Juliette, because he seems to have been her only friend ... I think he does care about her... so I'm hoping he'll turn more into a good guy other than keep being one of the bad guys (Warner as a bad guy is way enough!) ...

Juliette has had an horrible life and childhood ... imagine never being able to touch anyone... to be afraid to get closer to anyone in case they might touch you ... This poor girl! ... Not even her parents have loved her... I'm so rooting for her to find some happiness ... ADAM Please be a GOOD GUY! Pretty Please?! ;) (hide spoiler)]

I have to agree I wish they would have explained it further. Also I just assumed that they got away easily due to the drill that was happening at the time, but interesting thought.

(view spoiler)[ I really feel like the ending could have been MUCH better. Is it just me?? I suppose it just wasn't very exciting in the end for me.
I do like that there's other people with powers, though. That part really shocked me, which is definitely a good thing obviously, and I do hope Juliette finds family and friendship with these people in the next books.

(view spoiler)[ Maybe both Warner and Adam both have powers and that is the reason Adam loves Juliette and Warner has been studying her. I liked the "Happily Ever After" ending as the book felt finished at the end. But the ending felt kind of rushed. I wish we had more details of living underground. It reminds me of Mocking Jay in some ways. (hide spoiler)]
