We'll use the series read-along thread for the next two books which is here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Possibly! I really don't know, the beginning has loads of weird stuff like that! Half of it makes no sense whatsoever!

The first maybe 20% is like that? then it gets a bit better."
I passed the 20% mark and I agree I think it's starting to get better :)

Me neither! Seriously there are some weird analogies in there but I'm pushing through. I just wonder if anyone out there actually liked that first part lol

Yep. Thank god for that x'D

"I close my eyes until I've sewn them shut."

Ahaha! This is sooo good!!! I agree full-heartedly. :)

You'd be surprised!!

I do too! I just stumbled upon this:
"I have to say that I just found this line amusing, but probably for the wrong reasons -
"They want to delete every point of punctuation in my life from this earth and I don't think I can let that happen."
Hate to break it to you love, but based on what I've read so far, they're doing a fairly good job! "
Hilarious xD

20% - [spoilers removed]"
Pretty much sums up what I've been thinking since I started.

"I'm wearing dead cotton on my limbs."
"2 shattered windows filling my mouth with glass."
"I close my eyes until I've sewn them shut."
"My eyes are 2 professional pickpockets, stea..."
Her metaphors and prosse usually make me think like "how are they even related?" or "what does she even mean?" but I quite like them. Makes me feel good if it happened to make sense. :))

You're not the only one who was confused!

Some of them remind me of the way I feel when I'm really drunk! That kind of spaced-out 'Why did I never think of that before?' feeling, which makes complete sense when you're drunk, and zero sense if you're sober.

Yeah it's confusing. And annoying. Though I don't find repeating words as annoying as the pretentious weird analogies. They bother me more. And I don't like how she's (the author) delays revealing what she (Juliette) can do and stuff because there's no point, we already know from the synopsis. Get it over with already, you know?

Your commentary is so good. :D I have stopped feeling bad for hating the book so much.

I was wondering if someone out there actually liked it. I guess I found one! :P I do understand your point. But for some reason they don't seem to make a lot of sense to me. Have you read the rest of the series? Or do you know if the other books get better after this one?

Hahaha now that makes sense xD

Really? Thank you! :) Glad I could help with that! Hehe :P

Rachael really likes it! we scared her away though cause we didn't like it as much ☹

Yeah that was a bit too convenient. I don't even think the author tried at all to make the story interesting. Everything is so predictable!

Really? Oh man now I feel bad about being mean :/ Well, does she like it in general or does she like the writing style in particular. Because I still think I could like it eventually but I really cannot get on board with the way the story is told. I cringe every time I read a "poetic" line.

I need a 'like' button!!"
Me too!! Haha I'm cracking up at everyones gif's I want to LIKE them!

Hahah it's okay I'm not offended that people don't like it.. I like the writing style although I agree it's kinda hard to get used to.. And I like the characters and I LOVEloveLOVE the dystopian world and cough Warner cough yah idk I just l do!
You're entitled to your opinion though :)

Don't worry Rachael, you're no longer alone here.. I can't say that it's one of my favorite but if Warner, that's a different issue. :D

WOOHOO! Instant friends.
Also, I must say.. When you ask to be my friend on here you have to answer the question: "whats ur favorite book romance" and I would say like 75% of people say Juliette & Warner haha
P.S. Where do you guys find all those PERFECT gif's... I always search google but I find scary things like this:

>_<

"
That gif is hilarious! xD

It is hard to get used to! But if we're talking about Warner then I have to say he's my favorite so far. I really like him. So I totally agree with that part :)

It is very different. But I'm not one for poetry. Seriously, I don't even like poetry as a genre. I know people frown when I say that because it's like an entire genre but I don't know it's just not for me xD
&I really like that gif, you managed to find some cool ones after all! :P
I'll still subscribe on this thread to see your thoughts on the rest of the books.
