Great. I am working on my character now and will have it up soon unless you want to just jump right into the story.
Name: Lisa HudsonAge: 24
Appearance: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia...
Personality: She is kind hearted, always has a smile on her face, protective of her son, and smart.
History: She grew up in a very strict house hold. She obeyed her father without question and married a man she never loved due to her obedience. After getting married she showed that same obedience to her husband. Three months after they were married, her husband was called off to war. It was after that that Lisa found out she had gotten pregnant. Six months after he had left, she gave birth to a son. She named him Scott. It has been five years since her husband went away to war. She had never had the chance to tell her husband he had a son.
Other: Her son looks like this: http://www.tumbleandteacafe.com/Pictu...
Name:Ryan ThatchAge:27
Appearance: http://lh3.ggpht.com/-BNPGnoxzhoQ/Utt...
Face Claim: Justice Joslin
Personality: Ryan is a not how he seems to be basedby appearance. Ryan is kind and gentle and loving. Th war however, has made him a little rude and rough.
History:Ryan was drafted. He didn't want to be in the army because he didn't want to die. He doesn't regret being healthy because he learned a lot and met great people along the way. He has nightmares of some of the events. He met a man in the army that talked about his beautiful wife that didn't love him. He went so far to say that Ryan would be more likely to be her type and that if Ryan survived and the man didn't, he could have her.
Ryan was reloading in a battle and two assailants might have killed him then, but the man took a the bullet for him and took on both of the guys while Ryan finished reloading. By the time Ryan was done, the man had literally been cut down. Ryan shot both of the assailants and got the bleeding man out. The man's pain caused him to yelp in pain, giving away their position to the rest of the enemy's battalion. Ryan had to perform a Coup de grâce, killing a soldier to relieve his pain.
Ryan got back and tracked down the woman. He found her village and was headed over immediately in civilian clothing.
Other:
Okay. Sorry I got distracted by a movie. It is after 3 am where I am at so I am going to go pass out. I will be online most of tomorrow.
Lisa smiled softly as she walked out of her home to go work in her small garden while her son Scott played near by. The garden helped supplement for the groceries she bought. She wore a pair of jeans and a light blue t-shirt.Her thoughts wandered to her husband. She had never met her husband until the day she married him upon her fathers orders. She was only married to him for three months before the war when he was called away to fight. He would be due home any day now as the war was finally over.
She paused from her work and turned to watch her four year old son play. She wondered how her husband would react to having a son. Would he be excited? She brushed her hand across her forehead, leaving a streak of dirt behind. Shaking her head she went back to work in the garden. There was nothing he could do about their son as he was already there. She had found out she was pregnant about two months after her husband had left for the war.
Forcing her attention to focus on the task at hand she pulled weeds.
"Don't wander off, now, Scott!" she called with a smile.
"I won't mommy!" he said laughing.
Ryan was tired. He had been up for 36 hours straight in order to find this woman and now he was supposedly on his way to see her. He was driving his Ford F250 (view spoiler) to her house. He didn't know how he would tell her that her husband died or that he died saving her. He wasn't even sure how she would react. The man said she didn't love him so would she cry and be mad at the world. Or would she calmly take the news. He'd find out soon. He turned up his radio that was playing the Hatfields and McCoys Sountrack
Lisa lived on the out skirts of town which gave her a bit more room than most homes in the town. Her long hair was pulled back into a bun at the back of her head so it wouldn't get into her face as she worked. She loved her garden just as much as she loved her son. Hearing a car approaching she looked up."Scott, come over here please." she said as she saw a truck approaching.
Scott hurried over to her and hid behind her legs as she stood up. She took off her gardening gloves and gently placed a hand on his head to reassure him that everything would be alright.
Ryan parked on the curb. He got out of the car slowly. He was wearing (view spoiler). He was holding the jacket in his hands. "Is your name Lisa Hudson?" He said loud enough for her to hear from the curb.
She glanced to her son and said something softly to him. He ran into the house as she slowly approached the curb. "I am Lisa Hudson." she said crossing her arms over her chest. "Can I help you with something, sir?" She wasn't sure who this man was but was not going to be rude.
Ryan finally found the right house. Ryan walked as he talked "I was friend of your husband's during the war. I have bad news for you."
Upon hearing his words her heart began to pound. "You have news about, Charlie?" she asked watching him move closer to her. She glanced toward the house behind her to see her son looking out a window at them. "Who are you?"
He had reached her. "My name is First Lieutenant Ryan Thatch. Your husband and I were great friends during the war. I'm afraid he did not survive the end of this." Ryan said sadly.
She stared at him in shock. "He's... he's dead?" she asked as she brought a hand up to her mouth. She cared about the man even if she did not love him. He was good to her and they had became friends before he had left for the war. She took several steps away from him as she shook her head. "This can't be..." She glanced toward the window once again to look at the little boy who still peeked out at them.
Ryan felt bad and tried to make her feel better. "I'm sorry, but it's true" He noticed the boy in the window. "You can't break down right now though. Your little boy is watching." He didn't know how to do things like this.
Looking to him once again she took a deep breath. "He keeps asking when his dad is going to be coming home." she said softly. "Would you like to come inside and have some coffee or tea? It is the least I can do for you going out of your way to bring me the news."
She turned toward her house and started to walk to the door. How was she going to break to her son that he would never meet his father? What was going to happen to her and her son when her father found out that her husband was dead? She chewed on her lower lip and sighed as she tried to blink away tears. She opened the door and let him enter first. "Would you like tea or coffee?" she asked softly. "Scott, get away from the window, sweetheart and come here. I want you to meet someone.""Is he my daddy?" he asked as he came over and hid himself mostly behind her legs.
"No but he knew your daddy." she replied.
"Tea please" Ryan look at the boy. He didn't have a very nice facial expression, but he suddenly made a silly face in the hopes of lightening the mood. Scott looked just like his dad..
((Scott looked like his son or dad?))Scott giggled softly and let go of his mothers jeans. She headed into the kitchen and started some tea for them.
"So, you knew my daddy?" Scott asked curiously. "When is he going to be home?"
Ryan squatted to Scott's level. He nodded which meant he knew Charlie. He then took a deep breath and gently said. "I can't tell you. That's something your Mom has to answer."
Scott looked from him to his mom."Okay." he said.
"Scott, why don't you go to your room and play for a bit." she said as she set the tea on the kitchen table. "Ryan and I have a few things we need to discuss."
"But, mommy..." Scott said softly but whining.
"Your room, Scott." she said.
He turned and stomped to his room pouting the whole way.
"He is." she said watching her son walk into his room. "Please, have a seat." She sat down at the table and placed both her hands on her warm cup.
Ryan took a seat. "Thank you for the tea" He was looking her over. She was very attractive, especially after years without a romantic relationship.
"You are welcome." she replied. She took a sip of her tea and then took a deep breath. "How did my husband die?"
Ryan chose his words. She didn't need to know whole story. It was shook him at the time. "Your husband saved my life and died for it."
"May I ask why you are informing me and not the army?" she asked softly. She did not know how to react to the news of her husband dying to save another man's life. She still could not believe he was actually dead.
"I promised him I'd tell you personally and try to help you in any way I can." Ryan said truthfully.
"Why? You don't know me nor do you know my son. Why would you promise my husband that you would do that?" she asked softly confused. "I don't understand." The situation was finally hitting home for her and she looked away as she felt tears filling her eyes.
"Because when a guy saves your life, gets harmed so much that he yelled loudly in great pain and made you promise again on his death bed..." Ryan paused, he was starting to tear up as well. "To keep the one he loved without reciprocation safe and taken care of..." Tears started falling. and pounded his fist on the table in anger. "You keep your promise."
As he hit the table she jumped. Seeing the tears falling down his face she paused. "I am sorry. I did not mean to upset you... Wait..." she said. "He loved me that much? I never knew." She looked away from him again and a tear slipped down her cheek. As soon as the first one fell she could not stop the rest. She covered her face with her hands and cried silently.
Ryan hated seeing women cry. He let her cry a little bit and then said "I don't think he'd want us crying over him. I think he'd want us to remember him for his life not his death."
It took her a few more seconds to compose herself. She took a deep breath and wiped the tears from her face. "I am sorry. I... I know he wouldn't have wanted us to cry. He was just... a good friend." she said softly. "What was he like, I mean, when you and him were at war?"
"He was really funny and supportive. He kept me sane. One time before a battle a told this joke that really calmed me down."
"He... he was a good man." she said softly. "How am I going to tell Scott that he is never going to meet his father? I don't think he is even going to understand."
"I guess you are right." she said softly. "I don't want to keep you from your own family, so I understand if you must go."
((What if they started drinking their sorrows and ended uo hooking up?))"I'm here as long as you need me. My Father and Mother are traveling the world so I won't see them until they comes back from wherever they go"
((Sounds like an idea. Though she is probably going to have to get someone to watch Scott for her.))"You don't have a wife and kids to return to?" she asked. She stood and took a deep breath.
"No I don't. I don't even have siblings." Ryan said woth a shtug. It hadn't occurred to him that it was a bad thing to be single and childless at 27 years old.
((True. She does. I was just thinking she would want Scott to be somewhere else but we can do it after he is asleep.))"Oh, I did not mean to but into your business. It isn't any of mine." she said softly. "Do you need a place to stay for a little while?"
Ryan nodded. "If you by any chance know any cheap motels nearby, it would save me a lot of time" Ryan was pretty sure what she was implying, but wanted her to say it. Then he couldn't get arrested in a possible future.
