She turned and grabbed out a couple of glasses from one cabinet and the unopened bottle of wine from another. There were several other bottles in the cabinet as well. She opened the bottle and poured them each a glass. She brought the glasses over to the table as well as the bottle. She put the bottle down and handed him a glass. She sat down and took a sip. "I know you wish that Charlie could be here with us but he isn't there isn't anything you can do about that." she said softly.

"There are some small leaks in the roof and some other small repairs that need to be done." she said softly. She took a sip from her glass again. "Why?"
"I'm gonna need things to do, however long I'm here." Ryan said before taking a gulp from his glass.
"Well, if you want you can help by doing some repairs around here." she said and finished her glass. She topped off his and poured herself some more.
"Did you get any repairs done during the war?"
"I did what I could but, the first year of the war I was pregnant and was caring for a baby." she said softly. "I just couldn't seem to keep up with it and keep an eye on Scott."
"I'll get them done. Do you have any friends?" Ryan sounded rough and rude, but he meant well.
"I have a few, but all their husbands went off to war as well." she explained and took another sip of the wine. "They watched Scott when I needed a break."
-Fast forward to the next morning-Ryan and Lisa drunk and naked in Ryan's room with the door closed. They were asleep and spooning under the covers.
They had gotten very drunk and very open. They had cried and told each other about their lives. And somehow, they ended up getting intimate with each other.
Lisa moaned softly and opened her eyes slowly. Feeling her body up against someone and arms around her she lifted her head and looked over her shoulder. Her head hurt and she had to blink several times before she believed what she saw. She dropped her head to the pillows again and groaned softly.
Ryan stirred and slowly opened his eyes to see himself holding Lisa tightly while he was naked. His instincts nearly kicked in to take her out, which resulted in him pushingher, halfway off the bed."What are you doing in my room, Lisa." Ryan said in a commanding voice, still under the covers.
She squeaked as he pushed her nearly off the bed. She tried to keep enough of the blanket to cover herself. "Well, everything is a bit fuzzy." she said and grabbed her head slightly. "I remember drinking with you and I believe we got very drunk. From there it gets very fuzzy. However, I believe we were intimate last night." She blushed deeply.
"Do you by any chance remember a condom" Ryan said calmly. His mind was starting to clear and he could see the act, but not enough to know if he wore a condom.
"It is still a little fuzzy but I don't remember one." she said honestly. She sighed and hung her head. "I am sorry. I don't know what got into me last night. I swear I am never like this."
"It takes two to tango." He remembered that he wouldn't possibly have had a condom. Why would he? He didn't have gilfriend or anything and he didn't expect it them to sleep together. "I'm pretty sure I didn't have a condom on. Do you take any kind of birth control?"
"No. Why would I be on birth control when the last man I slept with was my now belated husband?" Lisa asked softly. "Remind me not to drink any time soon, would you?"
"OR for you to just drink in moderation" Ryan didn't want to worry about the possibility of him getting her pregnant in a drunken state."Go take care of your son, Lisa. We have to deal with the consequences of our actions, even if in a stupor."
Looking around for her clothes she nodded. Nervously she got up and started to gather her clothes and get dressed. "True, I guess we will have to figure out what to do later and we can talk about it later." she said softly and glanced at him.
Ryan nodded. He reached to the nightstand lamp and grabbed his underwear. He put it on under the covers and laid back down to sleep, trying not to watch her get dressed. Lisa looked better than he could have ever imagined. He didn't mean to sleep with her, but he was more mad that: A)He didn't wear a condom and B)He didn't remember the experience. But he did feel like a weight he didn't know was there had been lifted overnight. Maybe it was because he had a lot of built up tension in the area since he didn't have sex during the entire war.
She left his room so he could sleep if he wished. It wasn't like he had a kid to care for or any real obligations to her. She almost wished that she could remember the night before. She sighed and walked into her room. She changed out of her clothes she had warn the day before and brushed her hair then went into the kitchen to start breakfast before going to wake Scott. She sighed softly and went back to finish breakfast.
Ryan missed sleep he only slept when absolutely necessary during the war.
Once breakfast was done, she set a plate aside for Ryan when he woke and fed Scott. She ate with her son who said nothing to her. Once he had finished he ran back to his room leaving her alone in the kitchen to clean up.
Ryan walked down the hallways 30 minutes later. He wasn't sleepy, unfortunately. He was in the clothes from yesterday and took a seat. "So, what do we have here, chef?"
"Pancakes, sausage, and fresh eggs." she said and glanced at him. Bringing over the plate she had set aside for him. Placing it in front of him she smiled softly. "Did you sleep aright?"
"I didn't sleep in the last 30 minutes. I decided to eat breakfast instead. How was Scott this morning?"
"Quiet, he did not say a word to me." she said softly as she finished her kitchen chores. "I think he is still upset with me."
"He'll come around eventually. Where's the nearest clothing store?
"It is in town, about 15 minutes drive." she said softly.
"Does Scott go to school yet?" Ryan asked, hoping she could somehow go with him to purchase items.
"He is in pre-school." Lisa said. "The bus should be here to pick him up soon." She slowly walked to the door that led to Scott's room and checked on him. After making sure he was dressed and ready to go she returned to the kitchen.
"You feel up to going with me to buy some things? I don't know anything about the town, it's a miracle I even found you.
"Sure, I have a few things that I have to get from town, so it would save gas if we went together." she said and nodded.
"Sounds like a plan. My vehicle or yours?" Ryan asked before taking the final bite of his breakfast.
"Either," she replied smiling. "We can take my car since I know the way."
"Sounds good." Ryan smiled back. He really didn't want things to be awkward between them.
Scott walked out of his room with his backpack hanging off one shoulder and walked to the door. Lisa sighed softly and walked over. "Give me five minutes, Ryan." she said and walked out to wait for the bus with Scott.
Ryan moved the restroom, closing and locking the door when he got in. He smelled like sex, including on his fingers. As he washed his hands vigorously, he thought about if he could access his money in order to buy the things he need to be here awhile.
Once Scott was on the bus, Lisa walked back inside and sighed. She glanced around and realized he was in the bathroom. She cleaned up his plate and made a list of things she needed to get while in town.
Ryan took his shirt off and used his hand and the soap to clean his underarms. He had left his jacket in his room. He put his shirt back on and walked back to the kitchen. "What kind of clothing stores are in town?" Ryan said, unintentionally flexing his arms.
"There is a small department store that has a variety of clothes. It isn't anything fancy, but it has basics." she said looking up at him from the list she was making.
"Sounds good. I'm ready whenever you are." Ryan said, watching how she moved. As he looked at her, the happenings of the night before were becoming clearer to him.
"Give me a minute." she said and checked her list. She found herself glancing at him every now and again. As images of the night before began to become clearer. Her heart began to beat quickly in her chest and she took a deep breath. she finished her list and looked at him. "I am ready now." She grabbed her purse and made sure she had her keys.
Ryan patted his back pocket to make sure he had his wallet. He opened the house door for her. "You said we're taking your car right?"
"If it will start, yes." she said smiling. She walked out of the house and once he was out she made sure it was locked up and lead him over to a very beat up Chevy that had to be over 10 years old.
"We'll take my truck. I'll add fixing your car to the list and we'll add 'visit a car dealership' to the list of errands." Ryan said with a smile. He was surprised at the state of the car and kind of wanted to laugh.
"I can't afford a new car." Lisa said looking to him. "I can direct you to the locations we need to go to." She followed him to his truck and sighed softly.
"Who said you were buying the car?" Ryan said and opened the passenger's side door for her.
