erika (erikatz) | 13 comments I read this maybe 6 years ago. It's about a girl whose best friend is a gay guy. They go to the same school. There is a new guy at the school who is very attractive and both get a crush on him. There is some uncertainty about his orientation, there was talk about "what team he played for", or something like that. They make a plan or something to both try to attract/flirt with him, to try and find out if he's gay or straight.

I remember one scene, the girl gets to go to some cottage with the hot guy. She and her friend's plan was to have her go into the hot tub with him or something, but it was cold/electricity was out (?) so instead of donning a bikini she has to dress warmly. Her gay friend is with her on the phone and advises her to wear a sweater, without her bra on because that is apparently attractive to guys. From what I recall she was a bit shy and was not very enthusiastic at his suggestion, he frequently pushed her to be more confident, do things out of her comfort zone.

Also I remember in the end (view spoiler)

I forget who, if either of them, end up with the hot guy in the end. (view spoiler)

This book stuck out to me, and I've been wanting to find it because it was the first book I ever read that featured any characters that were anything other than straight. It was a novel concept to me, and overall a very funny and enjoyable read.

This book was targeted towards teens or young adults I think.

erika (erikatz) | 13 comments Hi Sophie, thanks for suggestion but that's not it. In the book I read both of them are single, and both of them are fine with each other trying to flirt with the hot guy, in trying to confirm what his sexual orientation is.
