I gasp, finally figuring out what they meant
"You mean the room don't you? The Rune room?"
My mother smiles at me
"I knew you would figure it out."



I said:

The rune room. Great. I looked over, "Really, Em?"

"Really." I say rakign a hand through my hair.

I said:

"Well, are we gonna go then?"


N said:

I sigh "Yeah, we are going to have to."

I said:

"We're going on a bear hunt..we're gonna catch a- nevermind. Random childhood song moment."

N said:

I look at her
"I know that book... Nevermind, now really isn't the time for reminiscing."

I said:

"Ya, I know. Sorry 'bout that." I smile. "Let's get this 'party' started."

N said:

I laugh, "So the Rune room. I forget you've never seen it."

I said:

"Nope. but from what I saw in your head..it's pretty...out there."

N said:

I look at her "How did you-? Nevermind, I'm pretty messed up right now. You don't even want to know what's happened since you left."

I said:

I shrugged. "Yeah. I probably don't. But then again, same with you."

N said:

I laugh, it's a harsh sound "You'd be suprised. So, it's a long walk how are things back home?"

I said:

I frown. "Back home...well Liv and Blaze are adorable as ever. Rife and Elly are getting along..more than getting along. And well, Ellis and Gibbs the dog are good friends."

N said:

I look at her, she had skipped the people, well to be fair PERSON, I had most wanted to hear about. But I say
"Rife and Elly huh? They're together? He'll be good for her."

I said:

I nod, knowing she wants to know about Patrik. "Yes. Elly and Rife are really cute together."


N said:

I nod then look at her seriousness creeping into my voice
"What's wrong with Patrik?" I ask softly, wanting to know and not wanting her to answer at the same time.


I said:

I look down, away from her eyes because if I see them, it'll be so much harder. Ten fold. "He's dealing. All this change, it's hard you know? But we've found a way to sorta help. It's not the same."

N said:

I sigh "Yeah, I do know." Then I fall silent, wishing she would meet my eyes "Salem.. What do you have to do?"

I said:

"We don't 'have' to do anything. But it seemed to help today. Took the edge off at least..made Sean mad though." I smile weakly, never once looking up. Not daring.

N said:

Salem." I say raking a hand through my hair "What are you doing?"

I said:

"It doesn't matter Em. It..it just doesn't, okay?"

N said:

"Yeah, it does matter." I say meaning every word of it. I wonder if she can sense how much I wish I was home now, how much I want to be back with them, with Patrik. To have him be ok again. No matter what Salem says to sugarcoat it, I know Patrik isn't ok, he isn't dealing well. I can just tell and the more she doesn't tell me the more I don't know what to think.

I said:

I give up and let my hands fall to my sides. "We fought. It helped us both forget, at least for a little bit. It was good in a way, but we didn't let it go too far, okay?" I bite my lip because it almost did go too far. But it won't next time.

N said:

I close my eyes "Good." is all I say.

I said:

I sigh, half-releived and half-worried. "You sure?"

((GAH!! I have to do more in a little bit..or tomorrow))

Elly bit her lip and took another step behind Rife, looking down at her feet. "I didn't mean to make you angry," she whispered. "I'm sorry."

Rife narrowed his eyes at Liv, daring her to say another word.

Liv shrugged and walked off.

Salem went to the kitchen and washed her hands.

Elly sighed quietly and kept her eyes on the ground, tears welling in her eyes.

Enden placed a hand on Elly's shoulder.
"What's wrong?"

Salem turned at the new voice and went into the same room as them. "Who are you?" she asked, though she already knew his name.

((Sort of. Only for a few minutes. Then it's time for nightly prayers, and sharing (I'll explain what I mean by that later), and then after that I'll be on until Dada turns the internet off, and then I shall disappear.))

Elly gasped and looked up, surprised. "I-- I just don't like making people upset at me. When people are angry... it scares me."

Elly flinched and shook her head, too. "I-- It's fine. She didn't mean anything... It's just me." She looked away, trembling slightly.

((Okay, it's a family thing. We sit down all together every night before we go to bed, and we take turns telling everyone our saddest and happiest moments of the day. And we've added a new bit just this week: we make a goal for the next day, and tell what our goal was for the day and if we've reached it. It's a nice time.))

Patrik had fallen asleep with Emmy on his lap. Emmy shifted and woke up graoning and covered in her own blood. She sat up, in doing so woke Patriik up who looked at her like he hadnt' really expected her to be there. She kissed him gently, that was all she could give right now. And it was perfect to them both. Patrik's ears caught the words "I'll kill them." from an unknown voice and stood.
"Come on." He said pulling Emmy up after him. She walked with him to Rife's room.
Emmy spoke up first, already on edge, and fully intimidating
"No one is killing anyone unless it's me. And who the hell are you?"

Elly flinched again and took Rife's hand, trembling more now. "Please... don't be angry," she whispered fearfully. "Please."

[Hannah]

"Shhhh... It's ok Elly. Just relax." Rife murmured stroking the back of her hand with his thumb.

Elly looked from Enden to Emmy and bit her lip. "Please-- I don't know who you are," she said to the boy, "But don't-- don't make her angry. She just got back, she's hurt, and she's scary when she's angry."
She knew she sounded like a child, but she couldn't help it. Rife's touch helped a little, but still she shook like a leaf in the wind, and the tears were still glistening in her eyes.

Emmy leaned on Patrik a little, the measily few hours that she had slept wasn't enough. Patrik put a hand around her waist.
"Yes." Her eyes glinted "Dont' piss me off, I'm sure you'll regret it."

Salem smiled, "Don't bug anyone here, for that matter."

((I don't know... I don't think so. He probably would have responded by now if he was.))

Elly closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath, holding tighter to Rife's hand as she prepared to be bolder than usual. "Emmy... I'm not going to let you hurt anyone. You know I can make sure of that, right?"

[Hannah]

Liv laughed from the doorway.
"The last thing we need is for Patrik, Emmy and Salem to blow the place up."

[Ky]

Salem smiled, "Thanks for acknowledging me Liv."

[Hannah]

Patrik glared at her and Emmy laughed darkly
"Even you can't do anything like that sweetheart. You may be powerful but not that powerful."

Elly bit her lip and said quietly, "I wouldn't let anything happen... I'm always ready to step in." I wish I really was... I'm too scared to actually do it. But maybe if they think that I will, nothing will happen...

"Anytime, you are pretty powerful."

Elly, you know Emmy is stronger than pretty much all of us.

Elly looked to Salem and she sighed quietly. Stronger than me only because I am so scared. If I were not... I know I would be stronger.

Emmy smiled darkly
No, I'm stronger just because. And I've only gotten stronger when I was away. So don't count on it.

You'd never be stronger than her. Even I am not quite as strong as Emmy. Salem sighed. Close, but not close enough. she laughed darkly.

Elly's eyes snapped to Emmy's and her eyes widened. So you have learned new tricks... She bit her lip and moved behind Rife, shaking again. I just don't want anything to happen, she thought pleadingly. I don't want anyone to be hurt.

Emmy laughed a little.
