"Yeah, I'm sure. Rife smiled trailing his thumb across her lip."
"Thank you..." Elly let her lips part slightly, and she kissed his thumb. "But Rife, I-"
She was scared of her feelings for him, scared that she would end up being made to betray him, just like with Sean. But she couldn't hold them back, and now that she knew he felt the same way, it would be even harder.
"I'm scared I'll hurt you... like I hurt Sean," she whispered the name. "We shouldn't... I don't want to let that happen. We should be friends, and nothing more."

Wave's smile widened. "My mommy used ta sing it to me!"
Salem stared at him, "I want to know."
Connie nodded and smiled, but a touch of sadness appeared in her eyes.
Sean's eyes were pained. "Salem. Please. Don't make me tell you... Just let me hold you now- I've been dreaming about it for so long." He looked into her eyes, taking her hands in his. "Please?"

((My turn to have an idea. XD Have Rife get all mad at Ellis! 'Cause he made Elly so upset and 'cause it's partly his fault that Elly doesn't want to love him.))

"Yeah, I'm sure. Rife smiled trailing his thumb across her lip."
"Thank you..." Elly let her lips part slightly, and she kissed his thumb. "But Ri..."
Rife nodded the smile slowly dying.
"What ever you want Elly." He said nodding looking at her.
"Whatever makes you happy." he murmured
((Bah. I'll be disappearing soon...))
Tears appeared in Elly's eyes. "I- I don't want it, and it won't make me happy. But I- I don't want to hurt you."

She stared into his eyes and whispered, "How would you know?"
"Rife... what do you want?" She asked, her hand stroking his cheek.
She sighed and nodded. "Tell me... please? It's not like we have anything else to do."

"I just want to not feel like I'm on the edge of disaster and waiting for it all to explode. And you give me that. You give me that, its so much better than anything I would have thought."
She bit her lip, tears coming again. "I... That's how I feel about you. You make me feel like I'm not alone anymore, and... you make me want to let you into my heart. It's been years since I've let anyone in..."
She nodded. "Yes," she breathed. "Scary."
She looked into his eyes and sighed. "I don't know if I can. You'll have to... teach me how to let you in."

"Don't go," she whispered, standing too. "Can I-" she began to ask, but then shook her head and stood on her tiptoes to touch her lips to his, her fingers twining in his hair and pulling him down to her.
She closed her eyes and a small sound escaped her mouth as she kissed him back. Her eyes flew open and she pulled away slightly, gasping.
"Sorry," she breathed, "I just- need to catch my breath..." She leaned her head on his chest.
She shivered as his hands sent tingles throughout her body. "Don't stop," she whispered. "That feels so good..."

"Well..." she said quietly after a few minutes of comfortable silence, "It may not be as hard as I thought."
She looked up at him and smiled. "You know what I mean, though. Especially with girls... we get all dramatic and we think everything will be too hard... but then we get into it and it's easy. Great, in this case."

She laughed. "Girls are that way about everything, though. Not just relationships."
"I trust you... with everything," she said solemnly.
She nodded. "Do you trust me? Do you trust me not to hurt you?"
