Dawn Reid (froggydawn) | 19 comments I read this book years ago, if I remember correctly...it's a story of cousins traveling back in time through a sword they find at an abandoned house. I want to say they travel back to Medievel times and they get stuck there because they get their swords taken away from them. I remember in the last book, the kids find this room where there is a globe and they smash it and everthing seems to come undone.

Holly (hollylovesbooks) | 759 comments I made a list of kids' time travel fiction from the 1980s. Maybe you can browse it (it's fairly comprehensive, though I'm sure I'm missing some) There are also links to books written in other decades. Good luck!

Dawn Reid (froggydawn) | 19 comments OK...so it might be earlier than the 80's the books came out. I will have to check the lists. Thank you very much!

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Were the cousins boys, girls, or both?
Do you remember how the ages of the cousins?
Anything about the cover?

message 8: by Dawn (new)

Dawn Reid (froggydawn) | 19 comments It was a mix of both boys and girls. I think their ages ran from 7-11? I also think one of the girls names was Lucy. I can't remember what the covers looked like. There was a total of three books. I remember the last book left you hanging as all the kids were in the room after they broke the orb, wondering what to do and how to get back to their own time. That is where the story left off. And if I remember correctly...the place where they travelled to, the cousins remember reading about them
In a history book and the little girl Lucy was very fond of one of the knights and he was fond of her As well and one day the knight caught them playing with the swords that takes them back to their own time and he took the swords away from them and locked them away in a chest because they were too young to be playing with them.

The first review on Goodreads mentions the cousins finding magical swords. One of the girls is named Laura (name close to Lucy).

I second The Secret Country and its sequels--they're some of my favourite books, and they're exactly what I though of when I read the description above!
