I do not recall whether this is a movie or book, but I am quite sure it is indeed a book I read some odd years ago as a child. It's about kids (it could a single kid, but I think I recall it being siblings) who are stuck at what I believe to be a airport/building or something, and they take change from wishing fountains and buy food from vending machines. I distinctly remember counting of the change, and it being a few dollars. I apologize for the very limited amount of information, but it is all i can remember. Any and all help would be extremely appreciated!

That's the book, they're in the museum, hide in the toilets at closing time then come out to scoop the coins after close. Good book.
